        Disappointment With Lowes Appliances

        I bought a Whirlpool Duet Washer Front Loader from Lowes in September 2007. I went to buy a washer but was convinced by the Salesman that the front loader was the best washer and cleans the clothes better than the top loaders. I bought the washer for $750.00. Two months after I bought the washer, I had to have the washer serviced. Again 7 months later. I did not buy the extended warranty so after the 3rd time whirlpool refused to repair it and it cost me $239.00 to get the washer repaired. I called the Lowes Manager in Florissant and informed them that I bought a defective product and would they honor their word and replace my washer or give me a nice discount towards a new washer. In two words or less they informed me that I should have bought the extended warranty and refused to assist me with the washer at all. I informed them that I would never buy a Lowes product again and refused to go into a Lowes since then. Whirlpool did not offer to assist in replacing the product and refused to stand by their word also. I had it repaired for the 5th time on Monday. A Whirlpool repair person from A & E came out on Monday, charged me $129.00 to tell me that it would cost $435.00 to have the washer repaired. I felt stuck and disappointed with Lowes and Whirlpool. I have been going to the laundromat since last week. Can you imagine going to the laundromat for a family of 5.(how fun)
