My family has used State Farm for 30 plus years. With all insurance needs. Life, Home owners, ira's, roths. Recently my father passed away and my life insurance my mother owned. after he passe she changed the benificaries but they didn't tell her about him being the second owner of my policy. Which put me through so much stress. They would neve4r come out and tell me what I needed to do to gain ownership. I spoke to a attorney and did a small estate affiliated and since my step father's name was still on it they made my step brother sign one also. What does he have to do with my policy. This whole thing took a year to get straightened out. I believe they were doing everything in there power to decieve me and keep my money. My children have a huge amount coming to them. I am horrified at the trouble I am going to go through when they turn of age. One will be 18 in 2yrs. I will never in this life time or next use them and give the Herrin IL Dave Anderson is negligent to a very loyal customer.

I just received my refund check from…
I just received my refund check from State Farm Ins. My local agency accepted my initial payment, an initial payment and then SF actually debited my checking account (I signed up for automatic payments) without ever issuing my policy. That's right, I purchased a policy at the end of JANUARY and they refused to issue my policy because since relocating I haven't changed my driver's license yet. Okay, so that's your policy but I received statements, an account number, and everything that made me think everything was ok.
So, why didn't they just not take me through all that from the start. I could have been with their competitors by now instead of unknowing riding around without insurance.
Am I ticked? Heck yes! Called corporate Customer Service and they didn't know anything. By the time the Regional guy called I was done, over it!
In Maryland I had State Farm for years and loved it!!! What's up with the difficulty NC?
The local office was nice but corporate communication left a lot to be desired. Hey, how about sending payment statements, what about the letter that said you weren't issuing my policy in February instead of with the check in April!!! Had the nerve to offer to help me in the future with my insurance needs! Not a chance in ,,,well. you know! -

I 've had State Farm for over 30 yrs. YES! my rates are great. But they are multi state multi-billions a yr. It has become about the mighty dollar. Yrs back you got good service and excellent claim service. In the past 5 yrs, service has gone beyond return. I can't afford to change. But I sincerely don't recommend them no w. We were seriously ripped off.

customers loyalty doesn't matter anymore
I used to have a auto insurance coverage at Ellien Zogby in Liverpool, NY and once I told them I need a tow and to have the company bill them they were totally uncooperative. Telling me I had to call a tow service have them tow the car then go back to the office to show proof to only get HALF of what was paid! My question is why I am paying a full coverage amount for emergencies services, doing all the leg work and only get half of my money back because I chose to pick a place they didn't approve of. Never been late paying a bill never questioned why I have a extra $3.00 to pay because I pay by debit card over the phone, paying a $5.00 police fee which is ridiculous I thought tax payers paid their salary and this is what I get in return for over 25 years of service. I guess when a customer is that loyal and hardly ever uses services unless it is an emergency I get screwed. Well GOODBYE STATE FARM! I'm taking my loyal business elsewhere. And please try to refrain from posting a stupid negative comment from my response to try to make your company look better. You guys look pathetic doing that and you also look desperate. No one here is asking for your response to a review they are only asking for the CUSTOMERS review.

Happy in SC
We have had State Farm for 10 years. Our house burned 3 years ago thanks to careless roofer who had inadequate insurance coverage. Our SF homeowners picked up and handled the claim. They were GREAT! Nearly 500,000 loss. We could not ask for better service from our agent Maggie Waldrep and the claims people. We have had two small auto claims and service was excellent. We would not consider changing companies.

Had a claim after 6 years with the company. I was not at-fault for the accident, but the company refused to look at my car and made me go to different shops to get my own pricing and my rates still went - went shopping and found CHEAPER insurance rather than there over priced, no service, screw everywhere they can operation.

In 1987 my family was involved in a hit and run accident. The guy hit us head on. We had State Farm at the time and we had trouble getting anything done, from trying to rent a car to settling. Come to find out the drunk guy had the same insurance. If I could I would give zero stars.

I am 100% positive that they send out 3 NONPAY notices before they cancel so maybe your mom didnt check her mail? just a thought.

This company will drop you for the littlest of things. They dropped my mother and didn't even notify her of it so she was riding around without insurance and didn't even know it.

Our cancellation notification process and time frame are regulated and checked by the Dept of Ins. State Farm won't cancel a policy without good cause, and never without notification. The most common cause of cancellation is for non-payment of premium. Otherwise because of DUI's or terrible driving records.

this isn't about all of state farm but a particular agent who ruined it all for my family and i: aileen baldwin.
my family used to be under her before we started to notice that we had random fees that made no sense. when we questioned these fees, she said they were "insurance" fees. to this day, we have no clue what happened to those fees.
i changed my plan to just me on my birthday and she still mails my mother my information even though i'm the primary holder of my account. i tell you, she's got her own motives and would not recommend working with her. find another state farm agent. -
