I hired movers to move a 2 bed...

I hired movers to move a 2 bedroom apt less then 2 miles away. They were to charge me 75hr with a 2hr min. This just should have been less then 2 hours. It took them 8 hrs. They movers kept hiding out in the truck and disappearing. I often found them resting in the truck. I had 2 beds a few dressers a couch and loveseat and a few boxes. They charged me 800 dollars. I have called the company multiple times in last 3 days and I'm told I need to file a claim. They connect me to claims and I get voice mail. No one ever answers or calls me back.



I have never had such a horrific experience with any business in my life. They delivered yesterday and I am outraged. The only way I can feel better is writing this review and hope to GOD that you read it before trusting these people with your credit card and stuff!

The first time I called I talked to a nice man who gave me a very reasonable quote for moving an armoire from one part of LA to another and that we didn't have to pay until delivery was complete. After setting it up with him I got a confirmation call an hour later from the branch that would be delivering my furniture ... but they were giving me a MUCH higher quote with a 3-hour minimum. I told them that was not what I was told and they called corporate to talk to the man I spoke with. That man called me back and said that he set them straight and my quote was still the same.

On the morning of delivery they called to say they were at the pick up location but wouldn't move anything until we paid a deposit fee. NO ONE had told us this prior to right then!! Not only that but the man (Eddie, who has been talked about in previous reviews) was completely rude and threatening on the phone. At this point I tried to call corporate to talk to someone who could help but in the middle of me explaining what was going on I kept getting transferred and could never have a conversation with a real person!!

On the way to to the drop off location the movers got lost and it took them several hours to get to our house. But they were only willing to take a half an hour off of our price.

But the absolute WORST is that they expected us to sign the bill WITHOUT KNOWING HOW MUCH THEY WERE CHARGING US!! We finally got it through to them that we wouldn't sign a thing without knowing how much the total was but the driver could not get a hold of the branch because the rude man I talked to in the morning (Eddie) was out of the office. We waited a half an hour with movers on our street for someone to tell us the charge and they were giving us serious attitude for having to wait but how could they possibly expect us to sign a blank bill. After we got the number and signed the bill (that was ridiculously expensive and completely unreasonable) the mover immediately called Eddie back and started writing down new fees that they expected us to pay. Hidden fees that equaled to over 150 dollars)

I was ready to call the police. We felt so incredibly cheated.

And after all that they gave us a hard time about bringing the armoire upstairs even though I had confirmed that the move was involving two upstairs locations. They said they would do it as a "favor" but normally they would charge extra. After all they put us through it was like a slap in the face.
