This is a company to stay away from they will rip you off...

I had to give him one star but his rating is really no stars but i had to pick one....



I thought Robert Remitz owner of Southern Medical Dist was a good company to buy from he had a BBB logo on his site i called and talked to him . at this time i thought he was a decent company so i gave him an order for two lift chairs totaling over $2,000+ for both chairs.

The chairs were for my 94 year old mother and 100 year old aunt. after i gave him a credit card he failed to respond to my e-mails he failed to give me up dates on the two chairs as promised. then he failed to give me a delivery time, tracking information he failed to pay the trucking company. i know this because one day out of the blue i had two chairs coming but they were being held up for non payment of other shipping cost to other customers.

I sent him an e-mail telling him not to let me down on the white glove service that i payed $129.00 for that i had to go in for an operation. well he never provided the service i had to do the heavy lifting from the curb some 50 ft. to the condo to get them in and but them together the day after getting out of the hospital having surgery. I have been stonewalled from day 2 by Robert and his operations manager ms.crystal town. give them a credit card and he is gone the other way

Robert keeps saying there is no validity to any of this. my first question is were is my $129.00 for the white glove service that was never performed and he told the BBB that he did not perform the service.his other big thing is he states all the time that he does not make any money on these transactions and he is only the middle man. I know he is stealing money from his customers.



I sent him two certified letters and he refused both letters... But remember its not his fault.



I Quote from a letter from the BBB:



southern medical Distributors did not respond to the complaint, and would not settle this matter, and the BBB believes that the company's response does not adequately address all the issues or make a good faith effort to resolve my complaint.



He also is not a member of the BBB...and was never a member so his web-site is making you think he is.



Robert Remitz also did not respond to the States Attorneys office.



There letter to me stated:

The Attorney general office suggested that i contact a private attorney.

He failed to respond to the complaint and settle this matter and they and gave me a lot of help pointing me to the right people in Arizona.



For your info Robert Remitz and his company has had a total of 21 complaints..To the BBB office in Arizona.



5 -Regarding customer service issues.

9- Regarding Delivery issues.

1- Regarding product issues.

6 - Regarding refund or exchange issues.

and now my complaint making a total of 22.

Like the other customer stated please, please, please do not give this guy a credit card.

Robert Remitz will swindle you. if you have had a bad dealings with SMD AKA Robert Remitz.



Please fill a complaint with the Office of the Attorney General consumer complaints of Arizona, and the office of the BBB of Arizona. both offices are in Phoenix, AZ....



It is not a difficult process and you will be helping to stop this guy from praying on people in need of the medical products ...and you might just get your money back!



PS.. I just up dated my complaint to the States Attorneys office and also filed a new complaint with the FTC ... so now the FBI, and all local police departments in the USA have my complaint.

Sorry i had to put this info on the web but this guy needs to be stop from swindling people in need of medical items ... they don't need more stress by getting swindled.



He lacks personal integrity and honesty by ignoring everyone and is disrespectful, arrogant.

I will answer this MR. McDaniel for about the 10th time now. I believe I did my part as I explained to you hundreds of times. You have tried your hardest to take me down but you still have not succeeded. We are so upside down on these chairs and you do not care. If I had to deal with people like you daily then I would be out of business and I could not offer wonderful pricing and service to the 30,000 plus customers that have had a WONDERFUL experience with us. Let me say this again 30,000+ orders. You want us to refund you $200 and it is not going to happen. You have been a thorn in my side for almost a year trying everything possible to humiliate me and you have failed. We did nothing wrong--it is all with Action Liftchair which is the supplier and the shipping company and you no it. Get on with your life please and enjoy the chairs that got at a great price. I know they took 2 months longer then expected but you know it is not our fault. Good luck to you again and I wish you the best. What I find is funny is the threaten of the FBI and Police. This is ridiculous. Please put your energy into something constructive. They have my track record with is about 35,000 great and about a few bad and this includes your ridiculous claim. I strongly believe that customers are always right but there must be a line drawn in the sand and you have crossed it. I have 2 young kids that rely on me and I will not allow your false accusations to deter me from my mission and that is great prices and service in the medical industry.

Wow! How unprofessional

I have a hard time giving one star, but the computer will not allow zero. I can totally relate to this customer on the frustration level of dealing with a company that does not answer the phone and communicates only when convenient for them with short uninformative "answers". My mother rented a lift chair from them for $368.00 and it was supposed to be delivered on Friday. She is currently in the O.R. having her hip replaced with no chair to come home to and really inexcuseable excuses from Rob. He constantly states that he does not make any money on these transactions and that he is only the middle man. He refuses to give us the name of the company it is truely coming from and all we know is that on Friday it was 2 hours away. He must be very lost!! We are not fools! Everyone is in business to make money, that's how we pay bills and crooks like you that steal our money! Your response to the review above reflects your true colors as a person and a business man. Your reply is unprofessional and immature. I am not surprised though......please please please do not give this guy a credit card number!

This is SO far from the truth. We fill these rentals a lot of times even if we lose money. This is a hard city and I told you that and thus we cancelled it. The crooks are the ones that order $4,000 machines from me using a stolen card and then sell my product on ebay or craigslist once it is received. This is what we call double dinged in the industry. We buy it for the order and then they get it and sell it and then we have to reimburse the person that is the card holder $4,000. This happens to us monthly. Try dealing with that news. Great Company and Great Service

I cannot believe how fast this company responded to me when I called just after midnight for my dad who was travelling to China. They are one of the few companies that sell the PT/INR machine for people on Coumadin. My dad was able to travel and our Home health Agency received the machine next day air. He would have had to find clinics in China to check his Pt Inr and now he has the freedom of doing it themselves.

I ordered a shower chair for a patient on 11/29/2009 and was told it would go out the next day. Called the next week and told it had went out that day. Called the next week, no tracking available. Finally got a tracking confirmation that it went out 1/11/2010!!! 2 weeks later for medical equipment is unexcusable! Now I have a patient with great need that I have let down.

First off I just want to say that I remember this order and you paid for STANDARD shipping. If I sent it regular mail then it would have cost me over $40 for an item that you paid less then $20 for. Next issue is you paid $12.95 for shipping and it cost me more then that to ship it. We do not make money on these items because we know how important they are. Last point is that our suppliers DO NOT break cases and drop ship. This order comes in a case of 4 which means that if we do not have stock which sometimes happens then we have to order it to come to us and then break the case, re-box it and then send it out to you. You gave me one star but I explained to you over and over what the problem is and we were doing the best we could to get it to you. If we had it in stock you would have received it in 3 to 5 business days. If you paid for 2-3 day shipping which would have still been less then any local company you would have received it in 2-3 days. I am sorry about your situation and we deal with this every day but based on all of these scenarios, we did the best we could. So, anyone looking to order from us please contact us based on over 14 years of doing this, we will tell you the situation so you can anticipate what to do. We always tell you your options prior to ordering from us. This customer never did that nor did they ever pay any extra fees for a product that should have cost over $70. She paid under $30.

My Grandma came into Virginia Beach, Virginia and we had to rent a hospital bed and the person we used did not answer the phone. I called GoSouthernMD.com at 5PM on Friday and they were able to get it to us for the weekend.

EXCEPTIONAL SERVICE!!! Rob not only was able to help me get the appropriate neck brace i needed but saved me money buy only selling me what i needed. They were able to get me the neck brace overnight at some of their expense. Excellent sevice. I will glady buy all my future medical supplies from them. It is good to see a company more concerned about helping their customers than making extra money, especially in todays economy.

At 1000 PM,on a Saturday night,I had a patient, that needed to go home from the hospital's Emergency Dept. To discharge her, I needed home oxygen to be set up in the home.Rob, the owner of the Co,arranged to do this for the patient. The patient avoided an unnecessary hospital admission. We really appreciated the rapid response.

I rented a power chair!

i was in need of a powerchair for my travels to the Opryland hotel in Nashville. The previous time i rented one last year a local company charged me a delivery fee and pick up fee and never told me until i called them to have it delivered. Gosouthernmd made sure that i only was charged once and the chair was waiting for me when i arrived. Thanks for your help.

Great rentals!

I needed a power scooter rental for the 4th of July weekend. I was flying to go see my grand kids in west virgina. This was a last minute trip and it was VERY expensive to have my scooter shipped. I called this company on the 1 st of July and needed this delivered to my daughters house by the 3rd. The scooter was there before i arrived. There was no hassle at all they took care of EVERYTHING for me. It was one call and that was it. They even picked up the scooter for me as well without any extra fees. Thank You so much for all of your hard work!

I called Southern Medical to purchase a wheelchair for my mother. I had a VERY hard time locating exactly what I needed.My mother is VERY particular and we needed MANY upgrades. After several phone calls to multiple stores I came across Southern Medical. I got EXACTLY what my mother needed $100 less than the other stores (I wont name names, thats too rude). Not to mention the savings, my product was here within a few days , where others told me it would take 2+ weeks because of the special order! Now my mom has a new found freedom.



All of the staff was VERY kind and knowledgeable. I will definitely buy from Southern Medical again (although hopefully I wont need anything for myself :) )

Quality Service & Excellent Prices

I searched all over the Internet for a rollator and Southern Medical Distributors was consistently the lowest price available. My grandmother just got out of surgery and needed a mobility aid immediately. The customer service was very considerate, informative and understanding to my situation. Southern Medical Distributors was able to get my grandmother her rollator in 2 days. They also have a great maintenance and warranty program that takes care of the customer at no extra charge, replacing the damaged product at no cost and handling the warranty with the manufacturer directly so customers don't have to deal with the hastle! I will look to purchase all my medical and home care products from them in the future.

I ordered a Semi-Electric Hospital Bed for my Grandmother that was on back order. However, they found one locally and were able to deliverer the very next day! Their customer service department kept me well informed on the shipment date. If I need any further medical equipment I will be ordering from them again.

Even though this company is based in Arizona, the customer service people were outstanding and I went on the website and the prices were excellent. I ordered a portable concentrator and it was less then anyone else on the internet. I received the product 2 days. Great Service and thanks for your help.
