Shooting Solutions LLC is locally owned and operated by Brian Truex and Wil Kitelinger. We have over 40 years of combined firearms and training experience. And we are able to provide you with a professional and technical training experience. Brian is currently a police officer assigned as a violent crimes detective. With 12 years on the job. Brian was previously assigned asa supervisor of a specialized police unit dealing specifically with street level crimes in a plain clothes undercover capacity. He is an NRA firearms instructor and police pistol and rifle instructor. Brian is currently a member of the swat team with specific training in room clearing. Less than lethal munitions and techniques. Advanced firearms tactics. And CQB. Brian is a police patrol rifle and pistol instructor and trains local law enforcement officers regularly. Wil is a 15 year combat veteran of the marine corps who had intensive training in firearms instruction. He coordinated the instruction of over 300 navy personnel (many of which were women). This allowed him to develop successful teaching practices that were utilized to train people unfamiliar with firearms. Wil is currently a police officer assigned as a violent crimes detective with 12 years on the job. He also worked local. State. And federal narcotics investigations in an undercover capacity. This allows Wil to have a specific knowledge of criminal trends in our area and the difficulties associated with carrying a concealed weapon on a daily basis. Wil is a NRA certified pistol and home defense instructor. With law enforcement and military backgrounds we are able to teach from a practical, Professional, Tactical, and realistic perspective. We love what we do and it shows in our classes! We are also certified to teach the South Carolina concealed weapons permit class and the Utah Non resident CWP class. We teach the South Carolina and Utah concealed weapons permit courses as well as Advanced concealed carry courses, Firearms for women, Home defense, and personal training. The South Carolina concealed weapons permit course qualifies you to obtain your SC CWP and meet the minimum training requirements of the South Carolina law pertaining to carrying a concealed weapon. The difference between our basic course and some of the others you will find is that we ensure that you are comfortable with your abilities before sending you on your way. Also, our course includes fingerprinting on site, Lunch, and the use of our gun and ammo if you don't own one at no extra charge! No renting a gun. Buying ammo. Or going to your local law enforcement facility to be fingerprinted! All extra costs! we cover the content required by the state of South Carolina to obtain your concealed weapons permit. The SC CWP course is 8 hours long and includes classroom instruction and a portion on the range. You will participate in a live fire range exercise in which you will become more confident in your abilities to hit a target at ranges from 3 yards to 15 yards. The live fire exercise is a standard course of fire outlined by sled and is 50 rounds. The advanced concealed weapons course is an 8 hour class implementing a defensive gun handling course and the ability to develop skills necessary to be successful in a deadly encounter. We will cover multiple scenarios that could occur in your everyday life and how to appropriately respond (an intruder in your home. carjacking in a parking lot, Purse snatching, Assaults, Targets advancing on you, Moving targets, etc). These scenarios will be in a live fire environment where you will be improving your skills and techniques involved in drawing your concealed weapon and engaging a target. This is a vital aspect of carrying concealed that is rarely addressed. And without practice or knowing how to respond. The delay in decision making can mean the difference between success or failure. The purpose of this class is to build your skills as a concealed weapons permit holder and practicing the skills needed to use your gun in a defensive confrontation. We will cover identifying potentially dangerous Persons/Situations, Awareness, and practical exercises related to everyday situations. Being prepared and ready for a confrontation is the first step to winning. Through practical experience on the range, skill building, and being prepared you will lessen the probability of becoming the target of criminals A large portion of the course will be on the range. At least 100-150 rounds will be fired. The firearms for women Advanced class is the same as the Advanced Course except we also cover awareness, identifying potential threats, how to defend yourself as a woman, weapon selection, how to carry concealed for today's woman, a dry fire exercise for familiarization. These aspects of carrying a concealed weapon are the most important for women!.
