Sewing Machines Plus and Floriani…
Sewing Machines Plus and Floriani software
I bought Floriani Auto Digitizing Plus Applique software from Sewing Machines Plus on the internet, believing the description of it and how easy it is to use. it is easy to use only it doesn't work. the pes file I get is garbage, not even close to the simplistic bmp artwork I used. I don't think the software has been updated to work on Windows 7 Home Premium as it can't find Paint which it uses to make changes to the artwork. The help files are useless tutorials written for sales purposes. I can't say much for Sewing Machines Plus either, they first sent me a scratched copy of the software, which i could hear banging around in the unopened package. they quickly replaced it.
When i complained about what crap the software is and how I couldn't get it to work, Janet, their expert, couldn't get it to work either. Torrie said i would get a return authorization to get my money back as I felt they had sold me a defective product. Afterwards she would not return my calls because she wasn't going to send it to me, for some unexplained reason.
I am a loyal SMP customer having purchased 6 machines from them, not some crank. I live in maryland and buy using the internet and their website.
Use caution before buying any Floriani software and make sure it will work on your operating system and actually does what it says it will do. Other companies will let you download a trial version of their software, not Floriani, probably because it doesn't live up to their claims. Caveat emptor, buyer beware!
I still want my money back!
The sales reps at SMP are great, friendly and helpful people but management doesn't seem to care if they sell defective software.
No stars for Floriani !

Great store, knowledgeable staff, helpful counter workers. I purchased a machine here and brought a machine in to have it tuned up. Large amount of sewing items in stock.

Pushy
Wanted to check out the store. Owner was very pushy in getting me to purchase a machine. Rude when I finally told them I was just there to check out the store. Saw his answer to a review posted on yp.com, and even THAT was rude. Staff was friendly but not very knowledgable.

UNHAPPY WITH SERVICE
I ordered needles for my serger machine that according to the web-site were the correct ones. When I received my needles, they were the wrong ones. I called about the issued and was told that the store company has a no return policy on needles. I checked the web-site to see if I had missed the so called store policy and the thruth is that I only noticed after they told me there was a policy. What a rip-off. I paid a lot of money for needles I won't be able to use, that according to the web-site were the correct ones and it was only after I called I found out about store policy. That's a terrible service in my opinion.

This is an excellent store whatever level of sewing experience you have. The staff is so friendly and knowledgeable that they put you at ease the moment you start talking to them. They love what they do and it shows in how they so freely share their ideas and knowledge. I also have a good deal of respect for their integrity. I’m new to sewing anything - yet I had grandiose ideas and wanted to buy a top end sewing machine that was way beyond my needs, and capabilities. They could have just smiled and sold it to me; instead they showed me one more appropriate to my needs, capability and budget. They wanted me to have one I could enjoy both now and as my skills grow. This machine will meet my needs and wants for a long time; I’ll definitely buy my next one from them. As a matter of fact, with their guidance I’ve already purchased a very reasonably priced beginners model for a gift. I’ve taken two classes and plan to keep going back for more because not only am I learning new things but I have a great time while doing it.
