We have a newer vehicle that was damaged by the car wash. We heard a loud sound as the trim on one side lifted up and flapped against the car during the wash. This was trim that was not previously loose and had obviously been lifted by the machinery. We showed the employee who contacted the manager. The manager said he'd have to talk to the owner (who never communicated with us.) We waited for weeks to finally hear back from the manager after several calls and notes asking about a status update. The final word: they refused to accept any resposibility whatsoever claiming they've "never had this problem" and their carwash "could not have done that". We have been loyal customers for years, living just around the corner from this business. They have now lost our business as well as that of other neighbors, friends and colleagues in the area.
First of all, i am the type of person who loves to wash there own car. After 2 weeks of not being able to wash my SUV i decided to pull in to the Splash and Dash on Sunrise, a place i would pass almost once a week. In hind sight, i should have kept driving and actually taken my vehicle to a reputable car wash and paid a little bit more. The phrase, 'you get what you pay for," and then some is true when taking your car to this place. My SUV has the paint protection film (clearbra) applied to the front hood. To explain, this is an .008 mil thick polyurethane plastic that gets applied to the leading edge of vehicles to protect against rock chips, bugs, and road abrasions. To make a long story short, the attendant that was spraying down my cars front end (with a pressure washer) decided it was a good idea to put the thing as close as as possible, with the pressure being at the very highest when spraying my hood and put a 1/2 inch cut into the .008mil plastic. Not noticing while she did it because i was in my car, i went through the cycle and pulled it around to there vacuum area to finish drying the left over water and i noticed the damage. I politely went to the on site manager, told him of the damage, and filed out a claims report. Once that was done he told me I would receive a call in 3 days from another manger. Did i receive that call, No, i had to call them. I spoke with two managers that basically told me to kick rocks and they were not going to take care of the damage. They pulled every excuse out of the book to get around this one. I have never been in this situation before and to say the least this is not a very pleasant feeling. The fact that you take your car to what seems to be a decent stand up place and they completely turn there back on the very life blood of there business, THE CUSTOMER. Now i realize that if everyone came in there and complained that they damaged there car, i could see how they would have to be more defensive, but at the same time, the manager indicated to me that they have been doing this for X amount of years and never have had this claim. I would thing, stand up take care of your customer and they will keep coming back. But in this case they could care less if they have one less person supporting there business. To conclude, i would not recommend this place what so ever, and to top off the whole entire experience, my SUV still had bugs on the front end and was not completely clean. Thanks Splash and Dash for a lousy experience!
