These people can suck a fat (D)ick.
RUN! In the opposite direction. If you have to carry your car elsewhere - do it. First, these people promised to fix my car, which they said needed rotors and brakes. COSTLY. Over costly. I got them the parts as agreed-in person-in front of witnesses. Because they said I may be able to save some money-
I saved ALOT-just for the pads. They absolutely REFUSED to do the work. Claimed they NEVER said it. Knowing that I was disabled, my mother is on oxygen, and I have a small child. Also, I brought it elsewhere, and did NOT need a rotor(s). And it was one brake pad that was bad-NOT ALL 4. So I got some money back, too. YAY!
This should truely be negivite stars but it wont let me.
Went in for an oil change, check engine light and a 30 point safety inspection. What I got was a $850 quote for power steering sensor replacement, power steering flush, diagnostics, brake system flush, brake shoes, brake hardware, brake drums, brake caliber, and they forgot my oils change.
There was also a $38 misc. charge that did not get explained.
Knowing the power steering sensor was anywhere between $20-$40 and an oil changne usually goes for $30 at most I told them to fix the check engine light, do the oil change, and write up the quote for the brakes. $414.73. For the work done.
I did not get a quote for the brakes, all I got was a list of parts.
When I asked about the work they denied any justification and would not support the work for the brakes with the supposed brake test they do on vehicles. When the slips where brought up there where safety test for other vehicles but not mine.
Upon further investigation the shop left my brake calibers exposed, no supposed leakage in the brake lines, no worn brake drums, and no need for repair. I could not double check the sensor due to the fact they cleared my trucks memory, I will also have to wait to get my truck inspected due to the fact my trucks diagnostics have been defaulted.
DO NOT GO TO THE ONE IN EXETER, PA
After spending $1800 for them to replace spark plugs, my catalyst converter and a bunch of hoses. I was told it would run "better" once I replaced the bag gas that destroyed everything in the first place. Well 5 tanks of premium gas later I took it to my mechanic back home. Turns out the reason my car still wasn't running properly was because they busted my EGR valve while replacing the spark plugs and everything else. Now I'm out an additional $250 because their mechanics are careless.
Took my vehicle here to get my erratic wipers fixed. After I got my car back the wipers still were not working so I took it back again and also asked them to do the plugs and wires while it was there. They gave us a price quote of under $100 and then when we came to pick it up told us we owed them over $600 in work. They told us it took them 7 hours to do our plugs and wires and had to take out our transmission. After finally liberating my vehicle from these crooks it is completely busted a day later with transmission problems. Now I am $600 in the hole with no car. I cannot believe they can get away with what they did to us.
Best thing I can say about Monro is they have tools
They put the incorrect rotars and brakes on my car
I had taken it back serveral times compaining my car shimmied when the breaks were applied. I was told they did not cut the rotars and that causes a shimmy
A year later, inspection time.
I was told breaks were good, cheapest inspection I had ever been through
Shortly after I take my car to another shop, they find the incorrect rotars and that I have no breaks left at all
Monro never took the tire off to check breaks when they inspected my car
No satisfaction was provided when the manger was contacted as we were told that happens alot
Beware!!!
I recently went here to have an oxygen sensor replaced. They broke my exhaust manifold while removing the old sensor, poorly welded on a new piece, and installed the new sensor by cross threading it into the weld job. The oxygen sensor did not work. My car is still not fixed, and Monro refuses to stand by their work and correct the damage. The general manager, Jason, treated me like I was an inch tall. I am currently working with the Better Business Bureau to get my money back. Do not go to the Monro located on Hard Road, 43235!!
So my wife's Nissan Pathfinder had severe rust on the coupler between the muffler and the resonator resulting in it breaking and separating the two pieces. I called Monro and talked to a guy that appeared nice and knowledgeable. I set up an appointment first thing Monday morning at 8:30 when they open. I also inquired if they had wireless internet as my wife needed to continue working while she waited and the guy told me yes that people often use their computers there. My wife shows up 10 minutes early to be safe only to find out that the exhaust mechanic doesn't arrive until 9 AM. She then discovers that they DON'T have wireless, and to make matters worse they don't even have a bathroom. You need to walk across the parking lot to BJ's. After another 20 minutes they tell her they don't have the parts to do it and it would take at least a couple of days to get them in. When I set up the appointment, the guy researched all the parts needed and set up the appointment, so he knew exactly what was needed! After she called me to let me know everything that was going on, I told her to just leave and I would call someone else that was actually able to help her. As she went back up to the counter the guy saw her coming and went to the back to avoid her! To put the icing on the cake, she was quoted over $100 more than what I was told it was going to cost! They were trying to take advantage of her! Don't waste your time on this place, they don't know the first thing about customer service!
BEWARE! They over promise, but under deliver. Monro Muffler/Brake in Wilmington, Ohio assured me that they could replace the brakes on my Volkswagon Cabrio, but caused costly damaged by not replacing ABS rings ($337.61) and additional charges to install and clear failure code after repair diagnosis by VW service. As a result, I have no ABS brakes and an ABS light that stays illuminated as well as an emergency brake that remains illuminated. I am still waiting to be reinbursed for the damaged they caused 9 months later!
Went in for an oil change, $22 not bad however tried to sell us a $400 brake job when we didn't need it. I guess it's how most dishonest garages try to make their $. Go to your local repair place not a national chain.
This place is terrible!!! They have mechanics that only do a half way job (that don't even know what they are doing), not to mention the fact that their mechanics go into work drunk! I took my car up there because of a small problem... all they did was throw parts on it, didn't check to see if things were functioning (I had four people tell me four different things were wrong with my car), and wanted to just keep throwing parts into it because of guesses. I finally told them to stop looking at my car and had it towed to a mechanic I knew I could trust... After 3 whole days dealing with Monro's and still not knowing what was wrong with my car... my mechanic took a good look at it, and within the hour figured out the problem with only putting a little effort into it. Makes you wonder what kind of people they have working there!
