EXPENSIVE!!! WATCH OUT!!!!

Without a doubt, this dentist provides a fancy office and offers a ""free"" massage. However, I'd say their prices are far beyond other places, so I'm not sure how ""free"" that massage really is in the long run.
I didn't find their business practices to be especially transparent. As a consumer, I should have been savvier in figuring out how much would be covered by my insurace. They ""take"" your insurance, but they are out of network in most cases. AND, their fees are more than twice the ""usual"" fees, so it adds up!

So, my rating isn't a review of the service, which was adequate, so much as the business transaction component. I didn't find them to be exceptional enough to warrant the fees they charge. They can keep the free cookies, massage and teeth whittening kits....maybe they should focus on fair market prices.

Houston's Best dentist

Just wanted to share with all the Houston area what a great dentist Dr. Thomas is! This office was so amazing and I have never been so pleased with dental care as I was here. They give a free massage once a year to all patients and lifetime free whitening. There is not a dentist in Houston that gives anything like that for free, all most of them give is a free toothbrush! Its a very spa like atmosphere you must experience it for yourself.

P.S. You also get a goody bag with a free toothbrush!

Worst Dental Office Ive ever been too

Dont be fooled by the nice furniture, location, and ""freebies"".
If youre interested in a massage go to a massage parlor.
She is not a very good dentist and the hygienist is not very thorough.
I was in the office over two hours for just a regular check up and cleaning. I only saw the dentist for like two minutes and the cleaning was only five.
Plus they are notorious for trying to upsell , such as deep cleaning.
Im not even going back for my second visit. Im having my fillings done elsewhere.
I go to the dentist 2X a year and never have any problems, I just decided to try them because they are close to my home.
They told me my gums and teeth were bad and tried to sell me over $1000 of service.
I went to another dentist a week later for a 2nd opinion and he told me my mouth looked great.
I guess they need to upsell to pay for all the extras - but if you are more concerned with your teeth than your massage, go to a real dentist.
I have no idea how she was ever named best dentist in Houston...terrible terrible terrible.

True advertising

Previous statement must have done something wrong or confused this place with another. I scheduled my massage and whitening appointment today right after my cleaning! This place was great and the doctor really seemed to know what she was talking about. I dont understand why the other comment was so wrong

Overall
wonderful experience

contrary to what the last few reviews say, i personally have had a wonderful experience going here......in response to the teeth whitening and massage, they DO offer these services FREE.....u have the entire calendar year to use ur 30 min massage, and as for the teeth whitening you need to make an appt so they can create the molds for you to take home for your whitening services.....i had absolutely no problem, as i scheduled my appt for the molds, came back a week later to pick them up along with the two tubes of teeth whitening to put in molds to use....my understanding is that once you have your molds made, you continue to use the same ones each year, they simply supply u with the teeth whitening tubes (2 per year).....also staff is absolutely nice and accomodating.....i've never had to wait long to be seen, and even if i did i wouldn't mind because they have massage pads on their chairs in the waiting area, which is really nice.....also, this is the first dentist i have been to where they do not try to sell you other services if u are simply there for a cleaning....for those who have been offered other services, you can simply decline, because i know i have when suggestions have been made, but they are simply recommendations which at times may be needed anyway! in response to the person who commented on lack of privacy, i agree it could be more private, but i also know that having been to other dental offices, open concept seems to be the setup for all offices i've ever been to......i switched over from another dentist in the area about a year ago, and i plan to continue going here!

False advertisement, terrible customer service!!!

Decided to give this place a shot since I live nearby. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE!!! This was the worst dental experience ever. It felt like a factory with no personal attention whatsoever and I was rushed the entire time! Also, there is no free bleaching or massage for life. Who are they kidding? This is just a ploy to get patients in the door! Do yourself a favor... take my advice and stay away from this place!

Terrible service

First of all, as a previous poster noted those magazines that claim ""Top Doctors"" are completely meaningless. It's actually a sales tool for the magazine. They nominate you as a ""top doc"" and then tell the nominee that if they want a picture/article it's gonna cost $5000. Peers do not nominate any of these people. It's total BS!
Second, I'm really sick of the service at the office, including from the doctor. I've had to call several times and leave messages in order to make an appointment.
I had an appointment at 8am for a cleaning, didn't walk out until almost 10am. There's 1 dentist and about 6 people waiting. Do the math. Think about the level of service you'll get. Really rushed stressed out dentist that needs to keep it moving and while she's at it she might as well try to sell you another service.
I've learned my lesson. Never go to a dentist's office that has spa anywhere in the title!!!

Nice people but over rated

I looked at the reviews and expected much more from this place. The people are nice but the service is average. Now what makes the entire experience below average is this: They advertise free massage and free teeth whitening but I did not receive either. They advertise that they do not push stuff on you but they do. They say they don't have unexpected charges but I say expect them because they do. There is no privacy. You're in a room with half of a wall separating you from another patient. You can turn your head see and hear everything. Privacy is a must....and they make you sign a HIPPA form....yet no privacy. When I got to the office there was no one at the front desk. I waited about five minutes to be greeted. Four people came in after I did yet I was the last one to be seen. I waited for twenty minutes before they called my name. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. They're over priced for the service they provide. I prefer quality work over just going somewhere just because they're nice. The people are sweet but the service and quality of work is like going to Pasadena to a whole in the wall dentist. I won't go again and wouldn't recommend it. They have the right idea but not the right approach. If you're going to offer something .... give it. Just because Houston ranked her a Top Dentist doesn't mean a thing. I've worked for many attorney?s who were in the same magazine. Attorney's who have employed Cardiologist who was banded from practicing in the entire East Coast. An article does not mean a thing. I experienced it for myself and it is completely over rated. The advertisement is very misleading and when it comes to the free stuff....it?s just down right false advertisement. I was never offered or given a free massage or teeth whitening. I'm not going back.

Good doctor, bad practices

I had a filling done at MPD about three months ago. This was my first filling ever, and I've had nothing but problems with it since. It's extremely sensitive to cold and heat. Hopefully, I won't have to have a root canal if I can get it replaced soon.

The doctor is a sweet lady who really does a great job, but I used to work at this office and she's definitely over stressed. She works out of five rooms while most doctors only run two or three at the maximum. There's a high turnover of staff at the practice and it's because it's a miserable place to work. Avoid the office manager if you can. The massage therapist, however, is a wonderful woman, and all of the front office staff are absolutely fantastic at their jobs. I'll also give it to Dr. Thomas, she's very rarely late and insists her patients get seated as quickly as possible, which is usually within 5 minutes. Her hygienist, Chelli, is excellent and very personable.

This is a good practice to go to for your work if you don't mind knowing that the person who's working on you is most likely overworked, underpaid, underappreciated and ready to quit.
