- Only a 1/2 mile from downtown Boone and Appalachian State University, the La Quinta Inn & Suites Boone is a beautiful mountain lodge with a spectacular view of the Appalachian mountains. Here in Boone, you are just minutes away from being able to enjoy the tranquility of the mountains, take a leisurely drive down the Blue Ridge Parkway, spend a day on one of the many rivers in the area fishing or rafting, or take a hike on one of the many trails and enjoy some of the waterfalls, the wildlife, flora, and the spectacular views. In the winter, you can snow tube at Hawksnest or ski at Appalachian Ski Mountain, Sugar Mountain Resort or Beech Mountain Ski Resort which are all in close proximity of the hotel. In the summer, we recommend families visit the Mile High Swinging Bridge and wildlife center at Grandfather Mountain, enjoy a family obstacle course and zip line at High Gravity Adventures, or take a day for kids to experience a West West Adventure at Tweetsie Railroad. Reviews
Very nice hotel, however, they will charge you a smoking fee, even though you did not smoke, and no employee ever saw you smoke. I was charged a $250 fee, and did not break the rule.
