J&S Firearms Safety - I went for my Basic Firearms Safety & Marksmanship Class. The instructors are top notch. They show you videos of safety and really make you feel comfortable before even talking about handling the weapons. Than they safely explain all the weapons and let you comfortably become familiar handling each weapon. At the range they are right there with you reinforcing everything that you learned in training. I will continue to take classes with them to practice what I have learned. Thank you for making this a great experience!

I was referred to the concealed weapons course by a colleague and it was one of the best decisions to have gone to J&S Firearms Safety. I had never used a firearm before, but I wanted to learn. In the beginning I was very nervous about firearms in general, but by the end of the course I was far more comfortable with the knowledge that they had given me. Especially at the gun range. I was able to use multiple different firearms to figure out which one would be best for me and felt most comfortable. Over all I had such a great experience and would highly recommend to anyone that is seeking to take a course like this. I honestly could not say enough great things about Steve and Jim.

Steve and Jim have a wealth of knowledge when it comes to firearms and firearms training and safety. I believe both have been shooting collectively for over 90 years. I took their basic firearms safety course for concealed carry requirements here in Florida on August 19, 2017. Cannot stress how knowledgeable and patient these two gentlemen are. They offer a powerful presentation answering all of the students questions and provided a multitude of different handguns for us to examine. We even went to the shooting range and learned the proper technique, stance and trigger pull. Being a newbie to firearms, I was very happy to be able to shoot a variety of handguns from differing manufacturers. If you are looking to obtain a conceal carry permit, I highly recommend taking a course with Steve and Jim. A++

Steve is a great trainer. Gave me excellent feedback and encouragement throughout the process. Gave great recommendations regarding the types of weapons I might be interested in as well as suggestions for the vendors who sell them. I would highly recommend J&S Firearm Safety to anyone who wants to learn safe and responsible use of a firearm.

I recently took a consealed weapons/safety class with Steve from J&S Firearms Safety. Steve is a amazing instructor. The class they have is very professional and you can tell they have tons of experience. They answered all our questions and concerns, and they encourage us to ask questions during the class so we can feel comfortable in the range. While in the range they did not leave our side and made sure all the proper safety steps were taken. I really appreciate everything they did and couldn't asked for a better teacher!

I recently took the J&S Firearms Safety course and felt that it was incredibly thorough and straightforward. Prior to the course, I had no experience with handling firearms, and coming out of this course, I felt much more confident in my ability to do so. Thank you for the detailed, hands-on instruction. Steve was amazing! He was very knowledgeable and passionate about firearm safety and we learned a lot. After the 3 hour course we got to practice shooting and he went out of his way to make sure we were all comfortable handling the firearm. He gave 110% the entire time, and we could not have chosen a better instructor. Thank you Steve!

We wanted a course that was going to teach us about fire arms safety and give us the opportunity to try out different weapons. I heard many times how disappointed people were taking the concealed weapon course from gun shows. They took one shot and purchased a weapon that did not suit them.

My girlfriend and I did our Basic Firearms Safety & Marksmanship class. We really enjoyed ourselves. The class was convenient, very informative and comfortable. We learned a lot and had good practice with the guns, enough to feel comfortable. We highly recommend this company!

My husband and I took the Basic Firearms Safety & Marksmanship class together in January 2016. Steve and Jim were very knowledgeable and worked well together teaching the material. We plan on taking more training with them in the future.

Great class! Steve and Jim are both great guys who truly want you to feel comfortable using firearms safely. The class if very thorough and they take the time to answer any and all questions that you may have. I was able to shoot at least 4 different guns and fired multiple shots with each. I know people who have taken their concealed weapons permit class elsewhere and they barely get to fire one round, let alone the amount I was able to practices with!



I would recommend this class to beginners and veteran firearms users.

My wife and I both attended the firearms safety class offered in January of 2016. Although my wife was a little nervous about the class, Jim, Steve and Derrick very quickly made her feel comfortable, both in the class and at the range.

I have been hunting since the age of 9 and my wife spent lots of summers on her grandparent's farm where she learned to shoot and hunt. Even so, neither of us had fired a gun for several years. Honestly, I knew I needed some pointers but I was amazed at what I learned during the class. The techniques taught that day helped immensely at the range. Now my wife and I can't wait to shoot again. As well, we are considering taking more classes offered by J&S. Seriously, I can't recommend them enough. Whether you're a novice or experienced shooter, there is much you can learn from this class.

My husband and I attended this class on October 2, 2015. Steve and Jim are very knowlegeable in firearm safety. Before coming to the class I was very intimidated on handling any guns, but by the end of the class I was confident. Both my husband and I recommend this class. What an awesome day! Steve and Jim are informative Instructures who keep you interested!

Steve and Jim did phenomenal job in this training, not only they show you safety but they show you how to hold it & shoot it properly, they will answer every question as well. I was a bit nervous but they made me feel great gave me the confidence I needed by showing me the proper way & best way to stand, thanks Steve and Jim for the best service I highly recommend this to everyone they are great.

Just attended this class yesterday (4/11/15) as I am going to be getting my concealed weapons permit. I have to say, both Steve and Jim are great instructors! Both them took their time and really made sure myself and everyone else in the class left there with a strong understanding of firearm safety, rules in carrying a concealed and weapon and more. I was expecting a short, basic course and ended up having all my questions answered and walking away with a lot of new found knowledge. I also really liked being able to spend a decent amount of time at the range trying out numerous different types of firearms. For the price, you can not find a better course!

My husband and I attended the training on February 28. Kudos to Steve and Jim on a wonderful job teaching the class. They were very knowledgeable and took the time to answer everyone's questions. I can honesty say that I learned so much from this class. My very first experience in the gun range. I was nervous at first but Steve and Jim made me feel very comfortable. If you are serious about learning gun safety and how to properly use a firearm then J & S Firearms Safety is the way to go. These guys are certified instructors and are phenomenal!

Steve and Jim were the best. I've had CWP for years, grew up in the West with guns my whole life. This was still the best refresher course I've ever attended. I came away even more confident and plan on taking my wife to the course in the near future. They were knowledgeable, used appropriate humor, serious when needed, and comfortable to be around. I highly recommends these two over anyone else in the area.

Steve & Jim did a phenomenal job teaching our class of very inexperienced moms with tons of questions! They took their time to answer each question and to make me feel very comfortable with gun safety and control. I'm a mom of twin girls with special needs and they are always at my side and I really wasn't sure I'd like the idea of carrying a weapon. My husband encouraged me to take the class and I am so happy I did! It was such a great time and very informative. I highly recommend this class to anyone who is not comfortable with weapons. They will encourage you every step of the way! Thank you Steve and Jay for giving me confidence to handle a gun.
