I was considering using HUGHESNET until I read the reviews on this site. HUGHESNET will not even get the opportunity to provide service to me. I will not call them. HUGHESNET, are you listening? You need to get your act together and stop ripping people off. It would be good to hear your plan to turn things around. You might retain more customers if there was an actual, actionable and workable plan. Is there??

When I first moved to the Marion area, I was happy to find a internet provider. I knew it wouldn't be as fast as cable, but I was enrolled in online classes. BIG mistake! They offered dish rental, and I chose a Low end package. DO NOT GIVE THEM CREDIT/DEBIT INFORMATION!!! My bank was hit for $500 for dish purchase AFTER I cancelled in just a couple of days. I am in SHOCK that they are allowed to stay in business! They are the worst company I've ever encountered. Customer satisfaction is out the window. We never had good service. The amount of data that you pay for is a rip off, they say you're allowed 40 Gb? But what you don't realize is that 20 of those GB have to be utilized in the middle of the NIGHT,!!! how dumb is that?? I wish there was a way to sue the, and shut them down!!!!! This is the worst internet service I have ever experienced. Troubles started the first day. Customer service is terrible and unresponsive. They do not want to listen to what the real problems are, they never return calls at all or are at least 2 to 4 days later than they say they will . Only gad it for 2 weeks and am seriously considering and probably will do an early contract termination. That's probably how they make money. Again this is worse than dial up. Worst service ever. Horrible company. They told me unlimited and that was a lie. I paid a 200 deposit and have been paying over 100 bucks every month for the past 4 months. . My new bill is over 700 bucks for 2 months of service. Thats crazy. Guess my credit score will go down, cause i am looking for a new provider. I highly suggest you shop around. This business is a fraud. might sound good, but after a few days you have no more time, and then you have to pay for extra. so much for unlimited.
I now know why they require a 2 year contract. Because the internet service is very slow and people would cancel after a week. This is absolutely the worst service ever. I think dial up is faster. Now we are stuck for two years. Don't make the same mistake we did.
