I LOOOOVE GARDEN CITY VETERINARY CARE!!! As a foster for Rescue & an adopter of 4 dogs, I have brought many dogs for care & surgery with the GCVC Team. They have a brand new, always clean, STATE OF THE ART facility with the latest technology to expertly diagnose, carefully monitor and superbly treat our pets (and our best friends)! Dr. Laurie Buschemi at GCVC, 1st treated a very sick dog I was fostering in Jan 2015. The foster dog, Linden, had IMHA & poor kidney function. I was blown away by the excellent treatment she provided and loved that she cared for him (and all her patients) like they were her own pet. Cindy, the administrative manager went above and beyond with anything I needed— from medical records to appointments, to questions or medications. After treating him for 3mos, they got Linden to 100% health and he was adopted where he is still healthy! Since then I have taken numerous foster dogs & my own dogs to GCVC. In addition to Dr Buschemi, I’ve had dogs treated by Dr. Polley, Dr. Levine & Dr. Infernuso... And they are all WORLD CLASS CLINICIANS & SURGEONS!

Our rescue sent to GCVC for treatment and surgery, a dog who had been badly HIT BY A CAR (Lily). She had a shattered femur, broken tail, broken pelvis, ruptured bladder, hernia and lacerated eye. Dr Buschemi & Dr Polley surgically repaired the hernia & bladder, also amputated the broken tail. Then approximately a week later, Dr Infurnuso (one of if not the most skilled dedicated surgeons) surgically repaired Lily’s broken pelvis and shattered femur using a complex of rods, pins & screws. LILY 100% RECOVERED under their care & has since been adopted. She runs & plays without issue, like she was never hit by a car!

ON TIME APTS! They’re excellent with on time apts, in my view.

Cindy, the staff of vet techs and all of the doctors, go above and beyond for their pet patients. THEY TRULY LOVES ANIMALS and it shows. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for an excellent vet practice!

Gave one start cause ZERO isn't an option. If you love your pets stay away from this place and this doctor. Do yourself a favor.

They say you shouldn't judge a book by its cover... looks nice from the outside, inside is relatively clean.. I went in for my free exam and just got the feeling the doctor I saw (who is also the owner I believe) didn't even like pets.. I guess cause the exam was 'free' and i told him from the beginning my finances were tight, me and my cat weren't given the same attention as any other client. Thats fine.. I'm just glad I found out on my first (and last) visit and not one day when it was an emergency.. Bad vibes all around..

Do yourself a favor and stay a...

Do yourself a favor and stay away from this place. They lure you in with the promise of a "free office visit" but then you leave paying a ridiculous amount of $$ and you don't even know what for. I brought my cat here because he had some weird rash on his stomach and the doctor barely even touched him! I don't know in what world a physical exam doesn't involve actually feeling the cat?? And he's a sweet kitty so its not like he's hard to handle by any means! The cat must have smiled at some point (probably because he was relieved by the lack of physical contact by the doctor) because by the end of the visit I was being told my cat needed to have his teeth cleaned. I don't know where this came from but suddenly I was being asked to leave my cat there overnight and the doctor said he would do the cleaning the next day. If it was an emergency okay fine of course I'd do it.. but I didn't want to leave my baby there overnight with no one watching him for no good reason. He assured me that it would be fine and there is someone there overnight... Weird because that is not advertised anywhere in the hospital or on the website?? Very hesitant and uncomfortably I said I'd have to speak it over with my husband and let them know. I felt at that point the doctor was done with me and was ready to move on. I don't know maybe he had a quota to meet that day and I wasn't helping him meet it. Thats a really good way to keep new clients... As I left knowing that I was never coming back, I asked one of the employees how many assistants were there at the hospital overnight. I didn't get an answer, but the perplexed look of "Hmmm, there is no one here at night...what should I say" said it all.

Recently I brought our two you...

Recently I brought our two youngest female Abyssinian felines for a teeth cleaning. This breed is notorious for both their very active behavior and chronic dental problems. I found the staff at G. C. Veterinary Care—Dr. Reis (DVM), Janet (technician), Lisa and Audrey (receptionists)—all made us feel confident and comfortable about entrusting our pets to their most capable care. Everyone’s professional manner and compassionate understanding about our apprehension of the dental cleaning process and anesthesia were greatly appreciated. We are so fortunate to have the G. C. Veterinary’s state-of-the-art facilities as well as their stellar staff to care for our beloved pets.

With thanks,

Lynn Simmons

Great experience

I went for my first visit and it was great. My dog and I were both greeted by a friendly staff. The doctor was very knowledgeable and sweet with my dog. She took her time and answered all questions that I had. The facility was also clean. Definitely plan on going back!

Garden City Vet!!

I have been taking my dog to GCVC for the last 4 years. The customer service at GCVC is wonderful. We are always greeted with a big smile. The facility is very clean. The waiting time is very minimal and usually no wait at all. You can take care of all your pet's needs within the office...no need to go anywhere else!

The staff and both veterinarians, Dr. Raymond Polley and Dr. Reis, are wonderful. Their care and concern for your pet is outstanding. It is comforting to know that your Veterinarian cares for your pet ALMOST as much as you do!

There is a big parking lot in the back of the building. There is more than enough parking and right next door to the PET RESORT. The PET RESORT is a luxury hotel and Doggie Day Care.

GARDEN CITY VETERINARY CARE SCORES AN A+ FROM THIS TEACHER!

Report Card for GCVC:

My dog has been a client of GCVC for 13 years. 'We' have always been treated like VIPs and now that a new puppy is on the scene, I look forward to at least 13 more years with the wonderful staff at GCVC. We are always greeted with a big smile, hugs and nose kisses for the dogs, and follow up phone calls just to check in and say "hello". After a short while, you feel like a member of their family!

The staff, technicians and of course DR RAYMOND POLLEY and DR. REIS are wonderful to both the client and the 'human'. Their care and concern for your pet is top notch. It is comforting to know that your Veterinarian cares for your pet ALMOST as much as you do!

The facility is very clean and the waiting time is minimal, usually no wait at all.

THE BEST!!!

I used to live in Maryland and had a great Vet that I loved for my two cats. When I moved to NY I was looking for the same combination of great care, knowledgeable and sensitive staff, direct contact with a patient doctor, and a super clean locale. I didn’t realize this would be so hard to find. I took my cats to several vets in the area (even to some places that friends recommended) and was very disappointed and frustrated in all of them. One of my cats was having some health issues and I was heartbroken that I felt none of the vets cared about him but just treated him like a number… they prescribed things they wouldn’t explain, didn’t take time to talk with me about options, had small and cramped quarters, and were generally filthy and smelly throughout the extent of the rooms. His conditions kept worsening and he soon passed away. Soon afterwards I got a flyer from Garden City Veterinary Care and decided to give them a try since I didn't want to take my remaining cat back to any of the places I had already been.

From the minute I walked in the door I knew I had found the right place. For starters, it is so much cleaner than any other vet I have ever been to... even in the exam rooms there is no smell from other animals and my cat actually came out of his carrier on his own for the first time ever while at the vet. On my first visit they offered to give me a full tour of the facility including the back operating/testing rooms... everything was spotless, and all the rooms are extremely spacious and well maintained with good lighting, large exam tables and modern equipment. Even more important than the cleanliness is the treatment- the staff is super friendly and caring, and the doctors are completely knowledgeable and also extremely patient- every single visit they take the time to answer all my questions and explain everything about the health of my cat. They offer complete treatments and specialized services for all varieties of pet medical needs. I had my cat receive dental work and small scale surgery there and they took every effort to care for him exquisitely. I have been so happy and impressed with their consistent excellence in care and services and I simply cannot recommend them enough. Even on my very first visit I became an immediate client for life- I will never take my cat anywhere else and only wish that I had known about GC Vet Care for my other cat when he had needed help. If you want your pet to receive both excellent treatment and to be cared for like the family member he/she is- there is no question that this is the place to go.

In addition to the Vet services, there is also a boarding option… while I haven’t used these services I did go on a full tour of the rooms and reviewed their services- I can truthfully say if I ever had to board my pet this is the only place I would turn to.
