Talking to the folks on the phone, we discussed how long the bees have been active at the house. The house was vacant from spring to fall. Based on this, they suspected a large hive with over 30 pounds of hive, honey and wax to remove. The bee keeper went to the house and provided an estimate of $1081. I received estimates from other companies that were significantly lower but decided on this company because they were able to schedule the job done quickly. After spending a total of 2 hours and removing only 15 pounds of hive, honey and wax, they still wanted to charge me $1081. I asked for a break on the price since the work was significantly less than originally estimated and they refused.
