need a vet in dawsonville, look no further
my husband and i had just moved to dawsonville. my parents were visiting from out of state with their dog maggie. she was bit or stung by something and her neck started to swell. being new to the area, i didn't have a vet yet so i started through the phone book. it was a sunday afternoon so no one had business hours. i called the emergency numbers i was given by a recording and i was able to get through to a couple different vets. i was told by them to bring maggie to an emergency facility that was about an hour away. i called the emergency facility and they gave me directions and also told me they were busy and it could be a couple hours of waiting to see a vet. we were worried that maggies neck would swell more and make breathing difficult, so having to wait a few hours worried us. i made a desperate attempt and called one more local vets office. thank God for dr. holton. he told us to meet him at his office in 15 minutes. he didn't send us away because it was a sunday or because this was a dog that wasn't one of his patients. that is a doctor who cares about animals and their owners. i bring my dog chloe there and even though maggie lives in north carolina she still comes to dr. holtons office for care.
