Akins Plumbing & Septic

Second time using Akins, first time we hired to address small issues needing repaired in order to sell my home. Second time was when we bought a new house and updated the kitchen sink. Chris had to instal new pvc and connect the sink, horrible job, everything leaks, worst part is no one answers the phone or returns the call. It’s been since 11/13 and still cannot connect with Akins Plumbing! Worst part was Chris still demanded a $40 tip! He told us it was part of the cost but he could waive it if we gave him $40 cash??? My dumb butt paid it too, people please beware this Plumbing Company!!!

I recently needed a plumber to make an adjustment on my water home's pressure. A plumber (unrelated to Akins) made a gross error about 3 years ago by setting our water pressure at 160; we were unaware of how high it was, except, that we began having a few leaking issues. I finally contacted Akins Plumbing who sent Chris and Chris (that's not an error - both technicians were named, Chris). They properly adjust our water pressure coming into our house and made the repairs needed, which resolved several other issues the high water pressure setting caused. Chris and Chris were very hospitable, knowledgeable, and very professional. I will call Akins Plumbing if I have another plumbing issue.

I called Akins Plumbing and got an answer and someone sent to my house on the same day. Chris showed up and was amazing. He easily identified what my problem was and came out the next day to fix it. He was very detailed in his work and thorough. If I ever have any trouble I now know who to call!!!!! Can't say enough how patient Chris was and what a great job he did!!

OMG-there is nothing more stressful than to come home to a flooded house. I immediately called Ricky and Chris came to my rescue within minutes! He was knowledgeable and professional; would recommend to anyone with plumbing needs!

On a Sunday afternoon, we found water in our basement from a backup with the septic tank. Shortly after calling Akins Plumbing and Septic, we had a call from a water removal/mitigation expert that came to our house that afternoon to assess the damage. Akins then had a crew out to our house the next morning to work on the septic tank. Derek and Marty did a wonderful job and helped me with all of our questions and concerns. They were very professional, prompt, and personable. In a very timely manner, they completed the job and had everything working again in proper order. I would definitely use them again and recommend them highly to others.

Well I had my 18 year old 1000 gal tank pumped for regular maintenance today. My tank hadn't been pump on the regular schedule which I understand now is every three years so it was more than expected.
Wade came out and did a great job. Not only did he do the work required to empty the tank but also provided me with valuable information to maintain what is considered a degenerating system by design.
Wade told me of simple inexpensive things to keep the system running at its best and slow down eventual failure like using a packet baker’s yeast once a month to keep the bacteria necessary needed to dissolve solids in the tank to prolong the leaching field. Also some obvious things the use of antibacterial soaps , bleaches and such but instead use produces like Simple Green an organic cleaner. Also what kinds of toilet tissue not to use.
I will for sure be giving Akins Plumbing and Septic a call in three years for regular maintenance. They know there stuff and at competitive pricing.

Our toilets and drains backed up in our house of only 18 months. Rodney came out within 20 min of our call to asses the issue. Turns out the builders had incorrectly laid the sewage pipe from the house to the street. It was a serious issue that we were not aware of when we bought the house. Rodney took the time to explain everything and show us where the issues were. It was a huge project and huge expense but we did get quotes from other companies in the area that priced $1k-2k more for the same work. It was also completed in one day. We appreciated the service and will call Akins again if have any more plumbing issues.

Wade was great at explaining the whole process to us and was very professional. They came out within a day of our call. We highly recommend them.

We needed the septic tank pumped at our rental property on a holiday weekend, and were very relieved that Akins was able to serve us. Richard met me promptly, and was very professional and knowledgeable. He explained the scope of the job and took the time to discuss some concerns that I had about the existing condition of the septic system. Overall excellent service and fair price.

They even gave me tips on how to prevent future problems. I will definitely call Akins if I ever have issues in the future and I highly recommend them to anyone!

My house plumbing system shut down. Called my septic company of 10 years on Friday morning. They did not call back so at 4:30 I called Akins. They were here Saturday AM. Wade was very knowledgeable. Worked very hard to snake out blockage. Fixed problem created by previous plumber. Installed a Tee which was never installed and needed for correct operation of septic system. Save me money by not pumping the system. Wade and his company saved this handicapped old man in a emergency situation

We had a leak near water main. My son located leak location and plumber James came out to make repair. He waited while we arrived, and made what he said was a minor repair. He was professional and honest. They have already been added to my contact list as my go to for future plumbing issues. Thanks James and Akins!

We were out of town for a week. Came home to find septic line stopped. Called Akins and they come out
same day and fixed my problem. Wade the teck was very helpful and even made a follow up visit to clear out an additional problem at no charge. Excellent service.
