This is always a great experience - and guess what! your hair comes away looking fabulous. Marilyn Lipsey, who has done my hair for over 21 years is the person who began this salon and has made it what it is today - a fantastic hair salon with a wonderful group of stylists. The atmosphere is warm, fun, professional, and very pampering. All the stylists discuss what you want your hair to look like when you leave, they talk to each other about your hair and the best way to accomplish this. I can honestly say I've never seen anyone leave there unhappy. Coloring, highlights, cuts, styles, etc. are all done with great thought given to the clients wants, but also to their hair types, etc. Everyone in there is always busy, either making a client comfortable, bringing us water, etc., discussing different techniques for our color, cuts, etc. or watching and learning from each other as beautiful hair color and styles are created. This is a great place for women and men of any age!!!! Trust me, remember when I said I was with Marilyn (I would follow her anywhere) for over 21 years - well that makes me a good deal older now and my hair still looks great!!! By the way, I think honesty is a necessity for my hair stylist, and I'm happy that they are honest or I would probably still have the wild, kinky hairstyle of my youth, which would look horrible on me now!!!!
I looked at a lot of reviews from a lot of different sources before I made this reservation and there were several common items that I found to be true: - It was a little hot. It wasn’t too bad when it was less crowded, but when the place filled up it got warm. - The tables are close together, although I really didn’t feel crowded and I didn’t have any problems getting in or out. - If you are planning on having a conversation while the band is playing, forget it. Sit back and enjoy the music because it is loud in the main room. - The bathroom attendant is VERY attentive. Take some tip money when you hit the rest room. He earns it. With that said, I can say that my wife and I had a great time. The food was delicious (we both had ribs that were REALLY fall off the bone tender) … authentic Memphis style BBQ (I have a good point of reference since I lived there for 5 years). Our waitress was very nice and made sure we were well taken care of. The band was AWESOME, and we really enjoyed the music. The cost was reasonable, about $60 with tip for two entrees and an appetizer. I wouldn’t take small kids here due to the loud music, but it is a great experience for adults or teens.
After moving to Nashville I wanted to get out and meet new friends, find great venues, and maybe meet someone special and I got all three. E&A got me out of my apartment to meet new people and get out of my comfort zone. The staff is awesome! And have always made me feel welcome at every event. There is such a variety of events each month in order to accomodate such a diverse group of people. Does every event interest me? Well, no but that's okay! There are plenty of options. Most events are free but some require some payment. I think its ridiculous to think that E&A is going to pay for everyones food, drinks, cover, or tickets to every event. They are a business and are very upfront with what you should expect. I have met some of my best friends in my life through this group. I also met my boyfriend at E&A. We have been together almost a year. If you aren't meeting people or having a good time then you shouldn't blame E&A. Life is what you make it!! E&A promises to give you events to go to and it's up to you to have a blast! Thanks to E&A my move to Nashville was so much easier :) It's worth every penny.
