Service was extremely poor. We had to ask for bread after 30 minutes sitting and other tables being served. Waiter never reserviced for water or second drink order. It was a ridiculous that the waiter automatically received 20 percent gratuity. I have tried several times to give this place a chance but I won't be back. Was this review helpful?Yes No|Flag Abuse
Being Italian, I can tell you this is the real deal. This is the food that my mother and her sisters used to cook when I was a boy. I came in after a long day and was warmly greeted and chose to sit in the bar. Their wine selection is impressive. I had the Al Fredo with chicken and it was perfect and the carrot cake amazing. Nothing near this good where I live in Arkansas. Don't miss this if you are in Nashvill... view moreWas this review helpful?Yes No|Flag AbuseReview provided by: Citysearch
This is my go-to place before downtown concerts and probably my favorite restaurant in Nashville. If by myself I will just eat at the bar but I have never been late to a show when seated with a date. I have never ordered off the regular menu; there is always something on the specials menu which sounds better. The cioppino is to die for; lobster, swordfish, mahi, shrimp and scallops over homemade pasta with a spicy... view moreWas this review helpful?Yes No|Flag AbuseReview provided by: Citysearch
This place is amazing! The service, food, wine and atmosphere are top notch! I couldn't of dreamed a better place to celebrate my 10 year anniversary. We had the eggplant rollatini to start, followed by the caprese and isalata di mare. For our entrees we had the chateaubriand and the cioppiono. Delizioso! They were so sweet they gave us a complimentry dessert for our anniversary, Carrot Cake...OMG! Will definately be... view moreWas this review helpful?Yes No|Flag AbuseReview provided by: Citysearch
We went for my birthday dinner, a party of five. We had reservations for 7 pm and had to wait about 10 minutes for the hostess to even show up at the door. The server was chatty, I suppose, to cover for her lack of polish. She served a refill of ice tea that did not have ice in the glass. ""I swear, it's cold!"" she joked. The salad and bread was tasty; the meal went downhill from there. I had spinach gnocchi. It w... view moreWas this review helpful?Yes No|Flag AbuseReview provided by: Citysearch
We had a great time at Sole Mio. Began with a caesar salad, which was reccommended by our server..Definitely the best caesar I've had in a long time. The pasta is so satisfying and perfectly al dente. Our server was very patient with our table and never made us feel like we were taking up too much time..She reccommended a ""Super Tuscan"" wine we had never tried and it was perfect with everything. We felt totally at ... view moreWas this review helpful?Yes No|Flag AbuseReview provided by: Citysearch
This is what a good Italian restaurant is: an unassuming hole-in-the wall place that gives you butt-kicking food in unimaginable quantities. Nashville does not have a single one. Not one. I'm originally from Massachusetts, lived in Rochester, NY for 10 years and have eaten in some of the best dives in New York City. Every Italian restaurant in Nashville is a disappointment to someone who knows Italian food. Sole Mio ... view moreWas this review helpful?Yes No|Flag AbuseReview provided by: Citysearch
My fiance and I took my mother to Sole Mio for Mother's Day. Our server, was funny, but a bit brash and seemed to be the only waitress working that night so she was running around trying to take care of everyone (our reservations were for 9:15). Everything from the bread, to the Caesar salad, to the spinach tortellini in Mama Rosa sauce was scrumptious. The chocolate mousse cake was yummy, but surprisingly I've ha... view moreWas this review helpful?Yes No|Flag AbuseReview provided by: Citysearch
not sure if it's because we're from utica ny where all there are are italian restaurants, but the food just wasn't good. we ordered the antipasto platter for two and it was just ok, then we both got the gnocci with vodka sauce. the gnocci was undercooked and was just plain mushy and the sauce was awful. it tasted like a wet rag, we had to add salt just to be able to eat it. i was really excited to have found an i... view moreWas this review helpful?Yes No|Flag AbuseReview provided by: Citysearch
