Pediatric Care
Dr. Mangano has been a member of the Nashua Eye Associates team since 2017. She entered optometry to help serve those in her community through vision and sight. Dr. Mangano is glaucoma certified eye provider and holds her optometry license in both NH and MA. She has particular interest in primary care optometry, ocular disease, and pediatrics.
Primary Care
Dr. Kennedy grew up in Shrewsbury, MA. She attended Assumption University where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in biology and a minor in psychology. She received her doctor of optometry degree from Massachusetts College of Pharmacy and Sciences. Her clinical rotations included training in binocular vision, vision therapy, and low vision. After her clinical rotations she pursued a residency within the VA Boston Health Care System. She worked at the Lowell Community Based Outpatient Clinic where she focused her education in ocular disease and primary care. She has a passion for ocular disease and enjoys educating her patients on better understanding the health of their eyes. Dr. Kennedy is a glaucoma certified eye provider and holds her license in both NH and MA. In her spare time she likes to go to the gym, run, fish with her dad at the lake, boogie board at the beach, and spend time with her family. She lives in Merrimack, NH with her husband, Jakob. Dr. Kennedy likes to be outdoors and especially loves autumn, with the beautiful fall foliage.

Glaucoma
Glaucoma is one of the most common reasons for vision loss in the world. It is difficult to diagnose because in most patients there are no symptoms until the disease is very advanced and permanent vision loss has occurred. This is one of the reasons regular routine eye exams are important for older patients.

Macular Degeneration
Macular degeneration is one of the most common causes of profound vision loss in the industrialized world. Risks factors for macular degeneration include advancing age, smoking, and a family history of the disease. Remarkable advancements in treatment have been made in the last few years. The advancements include medication and laser treatment. Dr. Marx, Dr. Barouch, and Dr. Klein are highly knowledgeable and skilled in the treatment of macular degeneration; and, in fact, have been involved in the experimental research to develop new treatments at the Lahey Clinic.

Cataracts
A cataract is a clouding of the natural lens resulting in blurry vision, as well as symptoms of glare, halos, or double vision (“ghosting”). Cataracts are a normal change with age; some doctors liken getting cataracts to “getting grey hair”. No nutritional supplements or eye drops have been found to stop or slow cataracts. Some risk factors for developing cataracts earlier than other patients include a history of diabetes, trauma to the eye, inflammation in the eye, or frequent use of oral or topical steroids such as prednisone.
Cataract Surgery
Cataract surgery has evolved enormously over the past 20 years. The cloudy cataract lens is removed from the eye and replaced with a clear implant. The implants, in particular, have undergone remarkable technological improvements. Eye Exam
Part of the examination, such as taking your medical history and the initial eye test, may be performed by a clinical assistant. Several different tests may be performed during the eye exam. Nashua Eye is proud to offer the services of Dr. Victoria S. North, an oculoplastics specialist. Dr. North is an American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery fellowship-trained physician, specializing in functional and cosmetic surgery of the eyelids and eye sockets. Additionally, Dr. North takes time to come to Nashua from her faculty position at Tufts-New England Eye Center.

Dr. North has extensive experience performing many cosmetic rejuvenation procedures. An upper and lower lid blepharoplasty enhances and refreshes the appearance of the eyelids. Botox injections treat the wrinkles in the forehead, between the brows, and around the eyes.
