I wish I could give negative stars. Nicor is an evil corporation. <br> <br>First they took us off the budget plan WITHOUT notification. After we got a few months behind, THEN they shut off the gas WITHOUT notification! The regular bills keep coming, but they never make any mention of an impending shutoff. They admit they only send one notice... guess what I didn't find in the mail? Anyway, we pulled some strings, called and paid the bill in full, on the spot. Do you know what they told us after they had our money? <br> <br>They MIGHT be able to get the gas back on in a week. But we had to set up the appointment now, if we waited or tried to get one earlier, it could mean we had to wait even longer. A WEEK!!!! <br> <br>That's A WEEK without hot water for showers, or laundry, or dishes! <br>A WEEK without heat! <br>A WEEK without using the stove!. <br>A WEEK without a clothes dryer! <br> <br> Look at the other reviews online, they all tell this SAME STORY... taken off budget plan, no notice, they happily take your money and tell you to sit and wait for them to get around to turning it back on. Those negative reviews go back YEARS! This is their policy. They don't care if you have kids, they don't care if you are elderly, they don't care if the economy is hurting you. THEY. DON'T. CARE. <br> <br> A WEEK without gas is punishment designed to teach people a lesson. Don't be fooled into thinking it's anything else. They just flip the switch and it could be back on. <br> <br>They say they can't get it on any sooner than a week. How long do you think it would take to get a new service hooked up? <br> <br>Use another company if you can.
