I have been to a lot of surplus stores in my time and some have been big, some have been little more then a room in building or a counter in a flea market offering, lacking a time after time experience as you just don't know what to expect if you went back and tried to find the same thing again. This is a rather unique shop because they not only offer new and used but actually "MAKE" things here too. I bought a canvas should bag and decided the shoulder strap needed to longer; so the guy doing the sewing simply cut it half and added a longer middle piece with a anti-slide/gripping surface to one side and wallah! it was perfect!. Then I had lost a cell phone at work and after finding they make cell phone cases I decided to have one made here. I took the phone in and the guy simply made one to fit the phone the way I wanted and to accommodate my work environment so it was both more stylish / functional and secure, then anything ready made I could find. He made it right there on the spot and it looks very nice and I didn't spend a penny more then if I had bought it at the phone store (they don't offer one like this of course) and I can work worry free about my phone. My wife even had her purse strap reattached while we were there; turns out it broke loose while we were out and she was amazed how fast he could simply address her need after getting my phone case made. Again right on the spot. We even found a book back for our college bound son who wanted something not too big, not to small, and just right for what he says is his frame. Again the guy just sized it out and modified it to fit and our son was able to add some military patches while he was there, right on the spot. I even has some Dog Tags made of our dogs, again right the spot. Great Service, Great offerings, and Very Competitive in every aspect. Don't be fooled by the size of the building(s) they operate from; they really have it packed in there.

After reading so many reviews and then visiting the shop I found almost everything we wanted for our son, but a few things were non-stocked and we had to prepay a special order; and I am a bit naturally apprehensive about such things. But the family seems genuinely honest almost to a fault, so we went ahead and did the pre-pay special from the company he recommended, after checking the size, availability, and in-stock condition at the distributor out of New York. Sure enough in three UPS days we had our son's Top Gun flight jacket and Coveralls. Everything fit just right and we even added some hook and loop to a few more patches and the coveralls and he sewed them on right on the spot just as others have been saying. And because we prepaid the oder they took and additional 10% off the stock price. Good service, good timing and a good savings too. We can highly recommend the shop, it's sewing services and their special order. We were so pleased with this we tried a drop shipment to our home from the same distributor through them too; this time a case. They called once again and we paid a drop shipment fee of about $8.00 to have it come to our home, and again the item was in stock and was received within three UPS days of ordering. What can I say, but that they know how to make it work. Their on line info pages made it easy to see their supplier catalogs in full color with sizing charts and they do a professional job of measuring to fit properly, so we had what we needed to pick the right sizes, we had been into the shop and saw what the colors and fabrics would be like and then picked the owners mind for some additional expertise and made our decisions. And just to be on the safer side of life these days; we even were able to use any of Ck-debit card to pay for the order. No problem and we are Happy.
I suppose that is a matter of perspective. But one thing is for sure from my perspective and that is that the combination of the two shops under one roof is a good idea. I mean what is not already carried in the way of bags, cases, and pouches or straps and such can be made. Heck, they make everything from Holsters to Bible Covers...so how much could be lacking? One thing is I do wish they could or would be able to do is spread the stuff out so a person could "SHOP"...I mean the selection is really great and it's all in there somewhere; but I depend on them finding it for me each time I go there. No problem mind you but it would be nice for once to go to a spot and find it myself? It is really packed in there. I have never been here that I had to special order a thing until recently and it still only took three UPS days by ground to get here so I could not really complain. It was a Pea Coat and they did not stock them except over the Thanksgiving to New Years season and I wanted a new one for New Years and so they special ordered it in. Now they have a few "additional" ones on hand just in case and for sizing. Still "stuffed" in there. Very competitive pricing and exceptional personal service is part of what sets this apart from the rest. While I was there I observed them sewing on patches to a leather vest, and repairing a snap in a pair of motorcycle chaps and even lengthening the waist band on them for the guy. Then I saw them make some custom adjustable tie down straps for a mover and replace a buckle on a horse blanket. And we found some Pink Camouflage on sale for a friends birthday. Yes in my honest opinion, I think it "is" the most complete surplus in the ECI area of Indiana and maybe the whole state.
