This company doesn't even deserve 1 star! SAVE YOUR MONEY AND YOUR CREDIT SCORE! My family have been members with Heartland FCU for over 10 years and my brother was even a branch manager. After he left the company, things went downhill fast for my wife and I. we had 2 auto loans and I had a credit card with them. I wanted to buy a new motorcycle, so we went in to talk to the loan officer, I made it very clear that in order to buy the motorcycle, I needed to refinance the 2 auto loans. She said the board would have to review it and she would let me know. A few days later I got a call that it was approved and we could come in and sign the paperwork. when we got there, she only had paperwork for the new loan. She said not to worry that she wanted us to get the motorcycle taken care of because my wife was pregnant and scheduled to deliver the next day. She even went over the new interest rates and told us what the new payments would be on the 2 cars. She said she would have the refinancing paperwork ready to go and to call her when my wife was out of the hospital and we could sign the paperwork. I called her a week later and she said that the board had changed their minds and that they were not going to let us refinance the auto loans. I confronted the CEO and told him what had happened and was told that the decision was final. I threatened to take my business elsewhere and was shown the door. Both the CEO and the loan officer are no longer with the company. In the process of moving my business to another credit union, Heartland closed my credit card account with no notice, and I got a notice from credit karma that the balance was removed from my report. I tried to login to my online account and it was shut down. They also stopped sending me billing statements. About 2 months ago i got a call from their VP of credit and she told me my payment was way late and I needed to take care of it ASAP. I explained that it was closed and removed from my credit, and that I had not received any billing statements and also that my only access has been turned off. She said she would look into it and I agreed to come in and make a payment on the card. When I was in to make a payment I asked about the online access, they looked into it and said that it was DELETED by them for an unknown reason, I mentioned again about not receiving the billing statements and was told that it’s a known issue and that more than 12 people have complained about not getting their statements. I am trying to buy my wife and kids their dream home, and was just informed that I don't qualify because my credit score is a few points too low. I was told that heartland FCU is reporting a derogatory mark on my credit for late credit card payments, but if I can get them to remove it, I will get approved. I have contacted the credit union and have been told by the CEO that they will not take it off of my credit, and that I can file a dispute with the 3 credit bureau's to have it removed if I would like, but it will take months and I will lose out on buying the house we want. I pointed out to them that per THEIR consumer credit card agreement it states that they will send monthly billing statements prior to the bill being due, and that they had failed to notify me of the payments due and date due, and that it’s an ongoing issue that their employees are aware of. The CEO offered to write the mortgage company a letter to tell them that my card is now current, but won’t remove the derogatory mark. I have filed disputes with the NCUA, CFPB, FTC and the better business bureau. They just don't care about their members!

This credit union is not the best~~ATM machine's with no way to deposit thru them, I guess that makes it easier for them, You have to wait 15 mins or longer to talk to someone, Nicole always seems to have issues, if she doesn't like her job, she should get another one. I have had deposits made at the drive thru window, that has been put in the wrong accounts, so check your reciepts.
Debbie, I am sorry to hear you have not had a wonderful experience with Heartland FCU. We are aware of the issues you have had in the call center and are taking steps to correct those matters. I have contacted the branch manager at our South Dixie location as Mr. Bergin had not been made aware of any mix-ups with your deposits. In the future please let the manager know of any discrepancies so they can be addressed immediately. We do strive for great member service here at HFCU and again, I apologize that your experience has been less than expected. Heartland FCU is a great place to work! We're a small family of employees who treat our members like family too. It's rare to be able to walk into a financial institution today and have the employees call you by your first name but at Heartland FCU it happens often. It's that atmosphere that makes this a great place to work!
