This place is the small, friendly, neighborhood pub I will go to forever as MY comfort spot! This is the place I can go where they know me by name and I can enjoy a great meal in a cozy environment.
The staff is amazing, Reuben sandwich, the club, and fish n chips are killer! Everything is exactly what I look for in place! 10 stars if I could!!
I took my pregnant wife, son and best friend here on Saturday for a late breakfast. As we walked in it was obvious that this was a bar. It did not look inviting for dining. There were several people at the bar drinking. We decided to eat outside on their patio. A waitress, dressed in what could best be described as an x-rated version of typical Irish apparel, took our order. My friend, wife and I couldn't help but make fun of the situation. After all, we usually have to wait until Halloween to see that. She seemed pleasant enough. It took a long time before we received service. It took longer to get the drinks which consisted of two waters, a coffee and tea. The coffee was cold so I ordered a coke. On two occasions, while waiting for the food, people came out to the patio to smoke. I politely encouraged each of them not to smoke near my pregnant wife. The first man was obviously drunk. He looked confused and staggered to the back exit. The next man understood and said no problem. Then a group of two men and a woman came out and lit up at the same time just feet away from us. I told our waitress that this was not acceptable so she suggested that we move inside next to the billiard table. She apologized and explained that nobody is supposed to smoke there and that signs are posted. The interesting thing is that when we left she was outside smoking with that same lady at the table. So I guess policy is not so important after all. Oh my gosh, I forgot about the food. It was slightly better than the service but not good enough to ever go back. I prefer The Cactus Patch. The food is consistently good and explains why they have been open for so long in Moorpark. It's too bad because every now and then you want to try something new. I give Corrigan's about six months before it goes under. An establishment like that makes its money from alcohol. And because this is Moorpark it's only a matter of time before the local police and Sheriff's department get involved. There are city smoking laws that Corrigan's doesn't feel they need to adhere to. I also feel that having such suggestive dress attire during the day for youngsters to be exposed to is a bit much. I hate to sound old fashioned but that is what attracted me to this town in the first place.
I was greeted instantly with a big 'Welcome Home', the staff is warm & friendly. A real neighborhood place, I was introduced to three people and had a great chat. Fish and Chips are excellent & the Guinness pours are perfect. They have some renovations in progress but what a nice place in Moorpark. They are open all day and the portions are ridiculously huge. They are brand new, but very promising. Wish them great luck!
I have been real impressed with the new Irish Pub (Corrigan's) in Moorpark. Friendly staff and owner. The food is great and I look forward to supporting this establishment and informing friends and family to do the same. It gets a 4 out of 5 because they are still working on the place. I'm sure I will be giving it a 5 once everything is settled in. Dakota, Sierra and Mehaul are great. They are kind to the customers and offer great service. I would recommend this place to everyone. I see it as a Pub for simple social gatherings and a place we as Mooparkians can call our own. In the past 14/days I have been there 8-9 times just because its a great place to have a Pint, socialize with others and staff and watch all sports of liking. Have the Fish n Chips, its great. Thaey also have a great beer selection, Guinness, Smithwick's, Harp, Stella and Bud Light on Tap. They also have other in bottle. Come on down and check it out. Cheers!
