Del Taco is now open in Montgomery, AL and it is packed to the hilt! Very clean atmosphere. Greeted in the parking lot by staff and then again at the door by management! Very welcoming. They have a display right up front of the fresh ingredients used in their products. I ordered the crunchy Macho taco, the Bean & Cheese cup, the Cheddar Potato Poppers, and the Beer Battered Fish Taco. The Macho taco was large, the shell was crisp and not soggy, it was packed with beef, tomatoes, lettuce, cheese, and Pico de Gallo, and sour cream. I had them add guacamole. Keeping in mind that this is considered a fast food restaurant, the quality is way better than its competitor. Next. The poppers. They were cooked correctly, not over cooked so as the filling falls out. Next the bean & cheese cup. I have to say that this was probably my favorite part of what I ordered. They were fresh, and slow cooked, they were seasoned perfectly, not too spicy and not bland. I added nothing extra to them. Lastly, the Fish Taco, first off I need to be up front in that this was my first ever fish taco so I don't have anything to compare it to. It was not bad. I would have liked to see just a slightly larger portion of fish within the taco as it seemed to get lost (slightly) within the soft shell, however, the quality was there no doubt when I did get a bite. I dined in. While there, the management were quick and responsive to any and all customer needs. In addition to welcoming you in, they thanked you upon departure. Other "perks" are that this place is open 24 hrs and they serve breakfast from 11 pm until 11 am. Their menu features both Mexican and American fare (burgers and fries). They offer a meatless burrito and management advised that if a customer wanted or requested, they could get a meatless taco as well. Very accommodating and customer service orientated. The things that I personally would change for a "dining in" experience are probably not things that they have control of since it is a fast food chain, but those things are minor and deal with presentation and ease of eating, such as the tacos in a tray that holds them upright as opposed to wrapped in paper. Again, minor details likely out of their control. The only real "negative" comment I have was that there was not a lot of guacamole added on the taco that I requested so I can't comment fairly on the quality of it. Overall, I give this place a great review. No, it's not "fine" dining, however, have tasted more quality and taste in the food here than in some of the sit down Mexican restaurants down town. Additionally, the customer service alone would bring me back here.

A favorite place to pop into when you are on the go and just need a few items. Patton Shop & Go is a great little neighborhood convenience store, located just off Adams Ave. near the corner of Adams and Hall Street, in a small shopping strip, directly across from Church's Chicken. Patton's Shop & Go has the flavor of the friendly, small conveneince stores from yesteryear where everyone knows the owner and everyone pretty much knows each other, also, since they all reside in that neighborhood. Patton's Shop & Go serves a variety of conveneince items to save a customer the hassel of making a long trip to a large supermart store and standing in long lines. Most popular at Patton's Shop & Go is their hot pizza, wings, fresh salads, desserts, cold drinks, and other snack items.
Del Taco has great food, but the careless employees are what's going to ruin this place. I've been to Del Taco about four times since they've opened, and combining all four trips, they've left out a total of four tacos from my orders. Its not my job to check the order before I leave, it should be the employees' job. I went inside yesterday to be sure my order would contain everything I ordered and paid for and the cashier laughed in my face while I was trying to order. I think the food is tasty and very affordable and it's also nice to have a taco fast food restaurant so close to home, but if the employees don't step it up with customer service like at Chickfila, this place is just gonna end up like Wendy's and Arby's; which is sad because Del Taco actually has a lot of potential.
