Fine Art Center
- General Info:
- We provide a fun and relaxed atmosphere to learn art. Our art school has been very successful for the past 35 years teaching fine art. We give kids and adults the skills they need to become successful artists in drawing, painting and ceramics. Many of our students have gone on to earn degrees in art. Others use their skills to enter and win contests. Still others use their newly acquired skills for their own enjoyment. Please come and see what we offer.
My son and daughter have been enrolled at the Fine Art Center for the past five years. The teacher is wonderful with kids. They look forward to art class every week. They have both improved a lot while there. I haven't heard or seen a teacher quite like him. He honestly enjoys what he does. Watching him teach, you can tell he loves what he does and the kids pick up on that. I took classes from him for a while, but regretfully I have to quit because I went back to work. I was in an adult class for about one year and learned to draw and started to learn oil painting before I had to quit. If I had to sum our experience at the Fine Art Center, I would say a great school and a great teacher.
This is really a very school for art. Im daughter has gone for 6 years. Her portfolio she has developed got her excepted to Cal Arts and the Pasadena Art Center. So glad I found this school. Several friends put their kids in other school because they think this school is to small. They made mistake. None of them happy with schools they went to. They try several. I only need one school. Teacher very nice and very good with kids. Easy to tell he loves teaching. Nice to find such a teacher.
I now understand why this school has so many positive comment. It is very good school to join. My kids love Mr. Burkhead. We have been going for 4 years. Only complaint is teacher is artist and runs school like artist not like a business man. Good for us not so good for teacher. I also have 3 friend who come to this school. Nice place for kid to learn drawing. Thank you Mr Burkhead.
Several years ago I was looking for an art school that could help me build a good portfolio for collage. I had tried two schools; they both ended up wasting my time. They both talked about how great they were at getting students into good art schools. It all sounded very good, but just as they say, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is. And it was. They were dishonest about what I needed for a portfolio. They pushed expensive classes a lot. After quitting the second school I was lost as what to do. Talking to someone at school about my problem, they told me about an art school that was helping them. I had nothing to loose, but to go talk to them. It was very refreshing to find an art school that told me the truth about what I really needed. There was no hype, no lies. They were simple, up front and did not charge an arm and a leg for there program. The Fine Art Center delivered. My portfolio helped me get accepted by all four schools I applied to. I whole hardly recommend the Fine Art Center, a small honest, down to earth school that really cares about its students. Thank you again; I will never forget how you helped me.
Because we like this art school so much, we though we should let others know about it.The Fine Art Center has been around for a long time, but not that many people know about it. It’s like a rare gem you find amongst rocks. It is a small art school and the owner told me he likes it that way. These are his exact words, “It gives me great pleasure teaching a subject I love so much. I don’t make much money from this school, I don’t need to. I have done very very well in other areas of art.” In deed, this is a very well run school where kids and adults learn art. The teachers show a lot of interest in teaching as well as making it a lot of fun. My three boys have been coming to the school for about three years. They love it and two of my boys have earned first places in several art contests. I highly recommend this school to anybody who wants to learn to draw or paint and have a lot of fun doing it. Truly a great place.
The only problem I see is he does not promote very much. More people need to know about it.
Me and some friends found this art school about three years ago and our kids love it. I have tried two other schools before coming to the Fine Art Center. This school is so well run and the teacher really does like teaching. My daughter has won four first place art shows after going for one year. She loves the school and the teacher. Very happy with this school.
I needed to work on my portfolio for collage. After looking around I went with The Fine Art Center. They have very good program. They helped me get my portfolio together. I got offers from all three schools I applied to. I'm now attending The Art Center in Pasadena. Thank you Fine art Center you rock!
This school has very good teachers. They really know how to teach and they make it fun for the kids. My boy has only been going for 6 months. He joined a art contest and won. Before coming to this school he would not have had the courage to join any art contest. Thank you for what you have given my boy.
I was very pleasant to find a diamond amongst a field of coal. A very refreshing way to teach art. Defiantly not like all the rest, not a cookie cutter approach to helping kids learn to draw and paint. The teacher is such a nice guy and knows how to teach and have fun with the kids. It is very easy to see he loves teaching. My two kids just love this school. I tell everybody I know about it. The only thing I would like to see is more classes on weekdays and evenings. The big problem is the owner of the school does not do much advertising; in return he does not get that many students.
