Frumpy to fantastic! Great attention to detail. Comfortable salon if you're intimidated by froufrou
I found these favorable reviews about Marz Salon, and decided to give them a try. I'm glad I did! I walked in with frumpy, shapeless, tired hair. I wanted a good, low-maintenance cut and nice highlights, and that's what I got. For once, I wasn't forced into a trendy cut that didn't match my lifestyle or hair type.
Priscilla highlighted my hair. I couldn't explain exactly what I wanted, so she chose some colors and explained what she was doing as she went. She did a wonderful job! She told me that if I didn't like anything about it, that she would fix it. Ray cut my hair next. My main requirement was that my hair be left long. Clearly, he pays attention to detail. We didn't talk extensively about the style I wanted because I wasn't sure about that either. He gave me a low-maintenance, beautiful cut. And it's still long! I think my hair looks great, and so does my husband, so the trip was worth it.
Marz Salon is small, unpretentious and urban, with colorful, airbrushed murals and Craftsman tool chests at each station. Parking was easy; I had an appointment at noon on a weekday, and found a spot on the lowest level of the 12th street parking garage nearby. I thought the prices at Marz were reasonable.
