Overall

The hotel is a little easy to miss the entrance due to the hotel sign because of the trees is not too visible.

The Hotel Desk Attendant a very nice person and cordial but shabbily dressed and looked bored or tired, but performed his job well. this worried me that hotel quality would not be up to its value. But the room and the bed was nice and comfortable. The breakfast was great, but some of the messy and inconsiderate guests would not allow the food area look clean and presentable. Overall I was happy with my stay and go back. Thanks.

Susie (Susan) at the front desk made our stay wonderful. I am in customer service and she is one of the best. She goes over and above for her customers. Nice Koi pond and pool area. I would stay there again.

I chose this Comfort Inn based on Trip Advisor reviews. The hot breakfast was the clincher. The breakfast included scrambled eggs, sausage waffles and the assorted pastries, breads and refreshment. The room was clean but showed some wear and could use some updating. However my complaint comes with the $20.00 they charge as a deposit for paying cash. I reserved the room using using a credit card. All my ID was in order and they already had my credit card information. But since I was paying with cash they held an extra 20. When I went to check out in the morning, they had to go to the room and check it out before I got the 20. This is the first time I have ever had this happen when paying cash (and yes I pay cash alot). Also while there, I learned that pets are allowed but they charge an extra ($50 non refundable) deposit

On our way north, we started to look for a place for the night. Comfort Inn was on our radar. We found that the staff were very friendly and professional. The room and bed was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was good. Best of all was the Koi pond right outside our room. Loved it!

I stay in Modesto several times a year and have a new favorite hotel: the Comfort Inn. I liked everything about this hotel down to small touches such as providing a rubber bathmat. The bed was perfect; the new flat screen TV with HBO was just fine, and I enjoyed the view of the peaceful courtyard with its Koi pond right outside the sunny breakfast room. As for breakfast, they serve a full, hot breakfast with eggs, waffles, and oatmeal along with the usual muffins and pastries. And finally, the staff are all outstanding. The hotel is exceptionally well-run, perhaps due to one of the two managers being there every day, all day. The hotel is located in the best area by the Vintage Faire mall and has a fine Mexican restaurant next door. This area is quite commercial with several hotels in this area and a CVS pharmacy, but the Comfort Inn property is lush with large shade trees. I've stayed at a few Modesto hotels and have finally found the best one.

I travel extensively for my job, but on this occasion I was traveling for personal reasons. My brother, sister-in-law and I had driven up to Modesto from Los Angeles to attend a family funeral. We were unfamiliar with the area and unsure where to stay, so we arrived with no reservations. It was late in the day after a very long drive, and we were exhausted. I normally stay at Hilton Hotels, and we first stopped in at the Marriott down the street, but the rude attitude of the desk clerk sent us right back out to the car despite how tired we were. We had passed the Comfort Inn, so I called to check on availability and rates. Claire, the front desk person, was utterly charming. She was so helpful and friendly on the telephone that we decided to check out the property. When we arrived, we found a clean, well-maintained facility and a smiling Claire. She was professional and efficient, but also very warm and personable. Our rooms were great, and we loved the courtyard with the koi pond. My sister-in-law commented that it was like a secret oasis. The next morning, Claire was still on duty, and still smiling and gracious. A second young lady was also at the desk, and although I did not get her name she was every bit as friendly. We don't often get to Modesto, but should any of us ever have occasion to be there again we have agreed we will most certainly choose the Comfort Inn based on this experience.

This is the perfect family hotel to stay at for all baseball and soccer tournaments. The staff is great ! The hotel is very clean and the kids loved the pond in the yard near the pool! This is definitely going to be our new "home away from home" when visiting the Modesto/Manteca area. Thanks for a wonderful stay !!

I was In town for a few days in February 2012. I needed to checkin early, like 11am and the front desk clerk was very accommodating! They let me check in early. I also was impressed by the room. It was very clean, not too spacious though. I had a nice view of the pool/ patio area. I didn't eat the breakfast... So no comment on that. The next morning, I needed toothpaste and the front desk clerk also gave me that, at no additional cost! That's always very nice. Overall, I would recommend this hotel to others. The location is nice, kind of secluded from what I remember and I like that. There's a couple fast foods close by... And the mall is about 1/2 mile away.

This is now a Comfort Inn, and was nicer than we thought it would be, based on the price (we did get a significant disount with our organization membership, however). This was a short overnight stop on a long road trip this past weekend, but I wish we had had time to stay longer. I booked ahead and requested a quiet location because we would be arriving around midnight, and called several hours before our arrival to make sure someone would be at the front desk. They were very helpful and friendly, even at midnight, we got a great quiet location facing a lovely courtyard with a pond and the pool, not the freeway, and the room was very clean. There was a slight antiseptic aroma when we first entered the room but it was gone after a minute or so. The quiet room vent and pillow-top mattress made for a quick trip to Dreamland. They provided three pillows for our king bed but we always bring our own so I can't comment on the quality of the pillows (they aren't feather/down and they aren't those awful super-fat foam monstrosities). The only slightly negative thing was that they didn't use a fitted sheet on the bottom, the flat sheet wasn't tucked in very well, and my husband's side came out during the night (but he didn't notice it so no sleep lost). The bathroom was small but had a recently tiled floor, a nice bowed shower curtain rod making for a roomy shower, and the sink had a new granite countertop. The fridge was great for chilling our drinks and refreezing our cooler’s ice packs. There was also a small (!) coffeemaker and a microwave that we didn't need this time. There's a free breakfast but we had to leave before it was served (6 am on Sundays). The pool looked nice and free internet is available, too, but we didn’t have time to use those, either. If we ever need to stop in Modesto again, this is definitely where we'll stay, and hopefully we’ll have enough time to enjoy the things we missed this time.

From the time we checked in till the time we left, everything was great about our stay and our room. My husband loved the flat screen TV and I loved the free WiFi connection. The fridge and microwave work great. Everything is very clean and the bed is super comfortable. There weren't many staying at the hotel while we were there so it was super quiet (except my husband's snoring). This is my third stay at a Comfort Inn! For the price and amenities offered, they will definitely be my first choice for future hotel stays!!
