The mission of the Missoula Fire Department is to provide emergency response services, code enforcement, public education and ongoing training. The fire department acts as a first responder to structure and vehicle fires, wild fires, medical emergencies, hazardous materials incidents and water rescues. Its fire prevention and investigation services include code enforcement, fire cause determination, public education and construction plans review. The Missoula Fire Department in Missoula, Mont., has approximately 65 firemen, including four battalion chiefs and 15 captains, working in four shifts.
