Broadway Studios has recently re-opened after renovations, and -as any business closed for any substantial length of time-, seems to be graciously ironing out the kinks. We had a marvelous time last Friday evening! The Vaudville-like acts were amazing- the night seemed to fly by to quickly. Service crackled with efficiency and the staff couldn't have been more attentive and friendly. I couldn't even finish all the food that we were served. This is about the most bang for my weekly dining and entertainment buck I've spent for a long while. I thoroughly recommend it to anyone! It is unfortunate that a musician in a previous Yelp ad (regarding this studio) chose to spew venom into the Universe with such a bitter and degrading critique. Being in the entertainment industry, he/she must realize how unprofessional it is to pan someone to such a degree on the internet...best to communicate that in person. GLC, in San Francisco
When I discovered the saloon three years ago I knew SF was the place for me. Having spent time in New Orleans ,I was looking for an authentic blues bar like I found on bouron street. I first walked past Grant street and heard the music coming out the doors but decided to first wander up columbus to see if I could find anything else. Nada... Everything else was either a tourist trap or a hoitey toitey jazz joint. So when I went back to the saloon I walked in the doors and was immediatley struck by the atmosphere. I could feel the history in the air; the beautiful stained glass windows, the toothless bartenders, and the bar itself is the original! built in 1861, the saloon is the oldest bar in SF, from the days of Wyatt Earp to the '06 earthquake, this dive has seen it all!
