Here's the thing about Savers. They're a FOR PROFIT company with non-profit partners. Everything you see in the store is donated by members of the community (donating in the red bins or at the community donation center on site) or delivered to the store by either The Disabled American Veteran's of MN or The MN Epilepsy Foundation. These non-profit partners are paid by Savers for every single item (even if the items are unsellable) that is donated. Savers DOES NOT purchase any items from any retailer at a steep discount. The company is completely donation based.
As for their prices- yeah, they've gone up. However, so has the price of gas, butter, milk, etc. The list goes on and on.
I'm proud of Savers for finally realizing how much money they were being taken for -nice bunch of people that work hard.
Clearly they are missing some pretty big brand name increases, though: Today, I picked up a J. Crew sweater (originally priced at $280 -because I bought the same one full price at J. Crew) for $9.99. Just ridiculous.
