We hired Bolechowski Construction to finish our basement. We originally quoted our basement with a larger corporate business but the large corporate business was way too focused on putting in features in our basement that were too upscale that it would not match the rest of the house (and it was almost twice the cost as Bolechowski). Nick came out and gave us a general quote and said he could build it out to our specs. We were a bit nervous at first because the large corporate company had blueprints and material lists, etc. so it was easier to tell what we were getting. After a couple of sit-down discussions with Nick we decided to do the project with him using our rough sketch as a starting point. Nick allowed us to make weekly installments for the project which helped us feel comfortable that we would get what we wanted and it took away the fear that someone would take our money and run. The project went very well and we are very happy with our basement. The project did take a few weeks longer than we expected, but the issues were mostly related to waiting on delivery of custom cabinetry. Nick was always accessable through emails, texts, and phone calls so we were always informed about what was going on. There were a couple of things that popped up during the project that cost extra money but Nick was willing to negotiate a fair price for the unexpected costs. My wife and I are happy with our new living space!

I have known Tom Jackson for four years. My first encounter was when I needed some unusual construction work performed on an old gas station. This exterior work was complicated due to the type of porcelain panel construction as well as some structural concerns. After interviewing two other contractors, who weren’t interested in the job due to its complexity, I ran across Tom. What I found most refreshing about Tom was his attitude and approach. He did not speak in negatives, but rather choose to think his way through the project, cool and calmly. The building inspector likewise thought that Tom’s approach was quite ingenious. Since then, Tom put a kitchen addition on my Summit Avenue house with the necessary approval from the Historic Preservation Society Review Board. This project was also challenging due to the 100-year old structure and the need to adhere to its original architectural integrity. Most recently, Tom put a couple of additions on my home on Lake Superior. This project also involved gutting and remodeling. In all these projects, Tom has done quality construction, finished projects on time and kept the work site clean and organized. After my three experiences, I have to give Tom a 10 star rating. I was in the market for some new windows so I did what any reasonable person would do. I went to my local Big Box store and started to look around in the window department. An hour later I was right back where I started. Still in need of windows without knowing what a good window is. I then decided I needed some professional help with my window project. A friend of mine had windows done back in 2002 with Budget Exteriors and told me to call them up and they would help me out. WOW, what an education!!! The sales person was awesome. He answered all of my questions and explained what to look for in windows. Before talking to him I had no clue what U-Value was or how it made my windows more energy efficient. I sure am glad I had such a professional company like Budget Exteriors come out and help me. The windows made it through the first Minnesota winter in flying colors. No drafts or frost on the windows like my old ones had. I can actually sit in my living room during cold nights now without having to wrap myself up in a blanket. Thank you Budget Exteriors!!!!!
