I went during a matinee on a Friday and was leary because of the perception that this theater was rather compromised because of the inner city location and the black staff; but to be quite honest, I was impressed by the young nicely dressed and polite staff and more than ample parking. I am sure the use of formal uniforms absolutely made the image. I know how some of our young people like to dress when they don't have guidelines to adhere to. From the ticket salesperson to the concession guy behind the counter who asked me how everything was, was refreshing. Friday nights and the weekend in general will bring out a whole different group from the staff to the customer. I know that and can't do anything about that but it is not Northtown's fault.. Other than pricing the moviegoer out of the theater all together (i.e. Mayfair mall where budget prices are still dang near 10 bucks), I think Northtown is a great bargin. I still go early for economical and safety reasons. There is some updating that could be done, but for the most part I felt it very accomodating.
If you are tired of the same old routine, coming to Potawatomi to play bingo or slots can be lots of fun. It is open 24 hours a day, so if you are feeling restless at 4 am, why not hop by and try your luck! Warning...service can be slow, and there can be some strange people hanging around.
Huge parking lot, near shopping area. Get your tickets and if you have extra time, kill it walking around. Eat at nearby restaurants or ice cream shop, but save space for fresh, hot, buttery popcorn (yummmmmmmy!), nachos, pizza and all the chocolate treats you can imagine!
