Ummm....Huh? I don't really understand the negative reviews here. The ladies in the shop (Rosie and Gerri) have have nothing but lovely to me. I went in on a Saturday afternoon, without an appointment, and did not have any problems trying on whatever wedding dress I wanted. I was directed to the sale gowns, the style I was looking for, and left to shop as much as I liked. The owner was friendly and helpful. She remembers customers that have only been in once, and gives you as much help or as little help as you need. If English is a second language for Rosie, she's been speaking it since she was a child, because I had absolutely no problems communicating with her or anyone else. Seems to me she may be a native Polish or German speaker, but that's like almost all shops that have been open for decades on Mitchell Street. It's an old Polish and German neighborhood, and sadly most of the old businesses have closed lately to make way for new. Apollo Bridal is closing at the end of this month because the owner is retiring, but as one of the last brides, I couldn't have been happier. I was respectful and was treated with respect. When I went in for my fitting last night, Rosie even made sure I question I had with my dress was properly communicated to the seamstress (in case I forgot to ask her myself), so I got exactly what I wanted. It was service just as nice as I received at Eva's, and the prices were better. Yes, the store is small and the dresses are packed tightly on the racks. Sure, the carpet might be a little worn. But, for a Mom and Pop shop, it was perfect. If they weren't closing, I would easily get all my bridesmaids dresses there when it was time.
Kashka is the most talented and creative designer this city has. She has designed gowns for several family members that have been incomparable. She is personable, honest and makes the entire experience special and pleasurable. She has tailored menswear and created costuming for us on several occasions. We are fortunate to have such an expert in our community. It's really a thrill to say "I had it made at Kashka's!"
When I lived in WFB i would take all of my tailoring needs to Natasha. great jobs especially with my daughters outfits. There are some tailors that will just do what you say but She knew just how short to go or how the garment should look. I stayed with her for years , before I had to relocate.
