Kitchen Remodeling
The Homeowners desired an attractive, updated and functional master bathroom. To accomplish this, we enlarged the existing bathroom space by removing a closet and two interior walls, which provided space for a new Kohler whirlpool tub, custom shower, and furniture-grade custom cabinetry with bookcase and lighted arched top. Because the house is located in an historic section of Wauwatosa, the arched, leaded glass windows over the tub needed to conform to today’s safety codes, while maintaining the historic integrity of the home. The original arched sashes were reused and new leaded safety glass panels were installed.

Kitchen Remodeling

Bathroom Remodeling
Flooring
This bathroom in West Allis was literally falling apart. The entire room was gutted and the flooring was removed down to its subfloor. The rotted window was replaced with a new glass block window. New white Kohler fixtures were installed and new tile with deco in the shower area brighten the room.
Door Installation/Replacement
Drywalls
This basement needed major cosmetic work. We removed the dark paneling and shag carpeting, and updated the mechanicals. We built a pantry for food storage, and painted and covered the laundry room. The TV room got new drywall, closets, and lots of updated lighting.
Tile Installation
Fireplaces
In this Greendale kitchen the existing wall between kitchen and family room was removed in order to create a more open concept. Installed in the new space are cherry cabinets, granite counter tops, a 9’ island, skylight, and new hardwood floors. The masonry fireplace was completely torn down and replaced with an efficient gas furnace accented by new stonework.
Staircases
Carpeting
We stripped the old roof and installed a new one, along with two new skylights. A new second floor dormer was built and made into a fourth bedroom. Both bathrooms and the kitchen were redesigned, and updated with new tile. A patio door was installed in the dining room, leading to a new deck in the backyard. Existing hardwood floors were refinished and new carpeting was installed in other areas. The stairwell was reworked as well. Trees and shrubs were cut down in front of the house to increase street appeal.
Skylight Repair/Replacement
This WRA Gold Award-winning West Allis kitchen satisfied the Homeowners’ desire for more open space and better lighting. Walls between the dining, kitchen, and family rooms were removed, along with the stairwell wall. New custom maple cabinetry and hardwood floors were installed. A custom China cabinet, 8’ island and work station provide ample space and storage. A combination of skylights and Solatubes provide ample natural lighting.

Sunrooms
This Greendale home's sunroom and deck were removed and a new sunroom and family room were built. The project included 4 new skylights, 13 new windows, and a patio door leading to a new deck.

Landscaping and Fencing

Landscaping
This West Allis couple was not making full use of their backyard. Salzer's removed a window and installed a door leading to the yard. We built a new cedar deck and finished off the yard with a matching cedar fence, picnic table, shed, and new landscaping.

Window Installation/Replacement
At all times the crew were very professional and respectful of ourselves and our home. Needless to say we are extremely happy with the outcome of the window installation, replacement of the stained glass overlay, new patio door, overhang reconstruction, staining, new trim work, and drywall replacement.
Decks
Gutters
We installed new siding, aluminum soffit and fascia, new gutters, new windows, and new entry and storm doors...and new shutters, for good measure.
Siding
The existing kitchen and dining room were gutted as well as both the first and second floor bathrooms. We installed new plumbing, electrical, heating, and cooling, as well as new maintenance-free windows, siding, soffit, and fascia. Brick work was removed to accommodate new windows and patio door locations.

Residential Roof Repair
We installed new roofing, siding, aluminum trim, soffit, fascia, and gutters on this West Allis home. In addition, new Great Lakes vinyl, maintenance-free windows were installed.

The use of limited subcontractors, who are licensed and quality-minded, and the fact that Salzer's performs each phase of the carpentry work, are highly valued by past customers.
Insulation
For this whole house remodel in Wauwatosa, 90% of all the existing plaster was removed and all of the old insulation was taken out.
