I would give this place zero stars if I…

I would give this place zero stars if I could!!!!!

We went on a Sunday afternoon, there was only two other tables in the restaurant

Our server was rude and slow with our drinks our appetizer and our entrees.

The Margarita’s tasted like sugar water, the food was awful. There was zero flavor in the salsa, the chicken tasted like paste, the steak fajitas were so tough you could not even bit thru the meat. The icing on the cake was the waiter put 18% gratuity on my check there was only 4 of us and when I said something they told me they do it on all checks. NEVER will we go back, I will tell everyone NOT to go there.

UPDATE : I spoke with the manager, he was very nice and he did credit my account the 18% tip when I told him we were a party of 4 and I did not authorize the tip.

    Great Mexican food!

Since first moving to Milwaukee in 2008, I have tried both the Brown Deer and the Wauwatosa locations; both have excellent food at very reasonable prices. I've ordered a variety of chicken and seafood dishes over time and am yet to try something I did not like. The guacamole cart is great and inspired me to make it at home. The portions are large so go when you're hungry and try not to eat too much of the chips and salsa before they bring you your meal. I realized how good this place is after making the mistake of visiting La Fuente in Tosa which is the exact opposite of this restaurant in every possible way.

You need to try this restaurant!

When this place opened near where I work on Brown Deer rd, my coworkers and I were a little scared to try it. It looked like a typical small Mexican restaurant in a strip mall. But we decided to try it one day and we were mad at ourselves for not trying it sooner. The food is excellent, I recommend the lunch specials, you get a lot of good for very very little money. There's also a shrimp and scallops plate (I can't remember the name of it) that is one of my favorite meals anywhere. And even the standard free chips and salsa is so much better here! The warm salsa is excellent and the warm chips are really fresh. Oh, and try the queso, it's also really good. \r Not to mention the actual restaurant itself. We were expecting a cheap looking dirty place, and we were really impressed with the cleanliness and design of the restaurant. And that's coming from an Interior Designer. \r A couple of years ago when we first started eating at Habaneros, we used to joke that if they didn't raise their prices, they'd go out of business because it was so inexpensive. Well now we are seeing that, they have begun to raise their prices on a lot of things. But it's no big deal, what was once super-cheap has become just moderately priced for what you get. Oh well, it won't stop me from eating at Habaneros.

Great Mexican place, try the chile relleno.

If you're just north of Milwaukee try this place out. Great food, a combination of Mexican favorites and traditional dinners. The chile relleno is great and they offer a guacamole dip prepared right at your table.
