- Comedy Caf has been a staple on the west end of Brady Street for 22 years, and will remain so under its new ownership. The Safina family, who own Tutto restaurant and Notte night club on Old World 3rd Street, are now operating Comedy Caf.Keeping the same great comedians that you have grown to love, they only plan to make a few minor changes."Our goal is to restore it to its old glory, " says Sal Safina, co-owner. The Safinas will maintain a lineup of five-star comedians at Comedy Cafe and intend to also bring new names to Milwaukee."We are thrilled to be able to keep Comedy Caf up and running and appreciate all of the support they have received in doing so, " says Donato Salvo, co-owner.A new exterior paint job is one of many ways they are looking to re-invent it, as well as working with national talent agencies and the previous owner to make sure there is no lull in the excellence they will provide. There are a few new additions to the staffing team, but most of the staff will remain. "I am excited for the change, it will be great for the club, I am happy to be on board, " says Eric Brand, manager of Comedy Caf for 10 years, "this is what the place really needed."The club will be closing on June 20 for a face lift and is expected to reopen by Thursday, July 15. The owners and staff encourage previous and new customers alike to see a show this summer in the new room. The box office will remain open during the remodel to take reservations for July shows.
