Quiet, Great atmosphere, Relaxing and great staff. This has to be one of Milwaukee's best kept secrets. You won't leave here hungry. Also saw before 6pm deals that will leave you with money to take to the bank. A great place to take a date or have a business meeting if you want to talk.
My wife and I have been going to the Black Kettle for over 30 years. Why? Excellent food in a nice restaurant.
It has always been well maintained, clean and very comfortable. Charming! It reminds us of places in the New England area. Williamsburg! We love the service. They always make us feel so comfortable. Some of the servers have been there since we started going there in the 70's. As we age, we eat less-so the early menu is plenty food for a meal and plenty for the next day. Strawberry schaam torte is the best! WE'll be back as long as our health lets us.
GREAT PLACE FOR AN UNBELIELABLE EVENING OUT. FOOD AND SERVICE WAS TERRIFIC. WE WILL RETURN AGAIN AND AGAIN.
I WAS SO IMPRESSED! DECOR, FOOD & SERVICE WERE OUTSTANDING. I WILL RECOMMEND GOING TO THE BLACK KETTLE TO EVERYONE. VERY IMPRESSED.

Friends told us about their wonderful experience while dining at the Black Kettle. Located in the town of Granville - Milwaukee. Just on the border of Meno. Falls, Mil. & Germantown. Our friends who are in their 60's said they used to eat at the Black Kettle for many, many years and still enjoy the great food and service 20 years later. So, we decided to try the place. My husband and I are in our mid 30's. How refreshing to find a real place, not a chain. Upon pulling up to the restaurant we were impressed to find a neat and tidy place. The server greeted us and asked if we would like to go to a table or to have a cocktail in the bar. We choose the bar! How beautiful! We were so impressed in the fine old woodwork. Very classy. The lady bartender made us feel very comfortable and told us about the dinner evening specials. The king crab sounded expensive $49 for all u can eat - but she assurred us it was wonderful. She also mentioned an all u can eat prime rib also. She said the Prime rib is not the usual little slice-it was atleast 1 lb. we had our drinks and went into the ""fireplace room"". Very old fashioned with it's hardwood floors and dark rich woodwork. Food was outstanding! We both took the recommendation of the Prime Rib- a customer next to us even recommended it- It was so tender and huge. Who could eat more? Onion soup -oooh oohhh soooooo good. Our server Mel was a delight. As we were leaving we spotted the king crab -I should have tried them. HUGE. We will definetly be back for them. Great dining experience.
