5-12-12 Excellent food and service!! I needed a place for a luncheon for my mom's 90th birthday party, and everyone at Alioto's was extremely accommodating. Initially we were told that we would have to be in the main dining room, but then I received a call that a private banquet room was available, and it was wonderful! I chose 4 entrees for our group - the filet mignon, breaded shrimp, chicken parmesan and breaded pork chops. Each entree was delicious, served piping hot and the portions were very generous. The timing of the salad and entrees was perfect, and they even cut the cake that I brought in. I wish I knew our waitress' name, because she was extremely friendly and competent, as were all of the wait staff that helped with our event. The total cost was only $16 per person, and this included salad, bread, the main entree, and choice of coffee, hot or iced tea, or milk. The $16 per person cost included tax and gratuity as well!! Everything was awesome and my mom will have very fond memories of her 90th birthday!! We have also gone there numerous times for the fish fry or just regular meals. Every time the food and service have been exceptional. The bar also serves a ""blended"" amaretto stone sour (my favorite drink) which is hard to find anywhere else. Outstanding in every way - Highly Recommended!!
in this place, my fiance was about to, las year's valentines day, he made reservations, still when we got there they made us wait for about 30 min and when we were seated the service was so rude and our table sucked, cant lie the food was good tough.
WORST DAY/ BEST DAY OF MY LIFE, MY FIANCE WAS ABOUT TO PROPOSE LAS YEAR IN VALENTINE'S DAY SO HE CHOSE ALIOTOS TO POP THE QUESTION, HE MADE RESERVATIONS BUT WHEN WE GOT THERE THEY MADE US WAIT ALMOST 45 MIN. ANYWAY AND THE SERVICE WAS SO BAD THAT I WANTED TO CRY, BUT ACTUALLY THE FOOD WASN'T THAT BAD, JUST THE SERVICE, SO MY THEN BOYFRIEND WAITED TILL AFTER WE LEFT THE RESTAURANT TO PROPOSE.
We had our wedding reception at Alioto's & our guests raved about how good the food was. The staff there was also very helpful in getting everything prepared for our evening. I would highly recommend this to others. Great quality of food, fair prices, good service.

We were the last to arrive to a large group. Ordered the perch Friday fish fry including fries, cole slaw, bread, and lemon; sounded great. The fish and fries arrived almost instantaneously. And nothing more. No bread, no slaw, no lemon. Ate the fish anyway, which was OK sans lemon. Wanted to ask the waitress for our entire order, but.... you guessed it.... no service. She only appeared to clear our plates without asking if all was OK, or if we wanted dessert, or a refill of my soda.
My custom in this situation, which has occurred 3 times before in my life, is to leave a 2-cent tip (1 cent could be a mistake; no tip might be Alzheimer's) but of course the tip was built into the bill for the whole table.
I felt compelled to complain at the front desk, and got a fairly defensive response. I was told the dinner was ""family style"" with shared slaw and bread; I had noticed an empty dish further down the table, apparently for the slaw. This wasn't on the menu, and my ESP was out of tune, so I was unaware of where to look for the other meal components. I was offered a fairly cold offer of a refund, which I refused. If I'd been thinking fast enough, I would have demanded a take-out order of slaw and bread, at least completing the order I'd paid for, and a $2 refund of the mandatory tip. Oh, and 2 pennies to the waitress.

I usually don?t take to the time to comment on service, but in this case I decided to take a stand. My family and I have gone to Fish Frys in Wisconsin ritually from as long as I can remember. It has turned into a warm tradition. So, we decided to try this restaurant tonight. We are very friendly people, who usually (even if we have bad service) will tip well. The service was bad from the hostess getting worse onto the waitress. I have worked many jobs like this myself, and even on my busy nights, never acted as arrogant as this women. Please you are not doing us a favor by just being there. The only part good to the night was the bartender, who got a lot of money from us, because we waited soooooo long to be seated. All I have to say, if you would like bad service, with an OK meal try this restaurant. There are so many other options out there, with much better food. Unless you are going for just a drink, forget it.
