I live Lubbock and was in your store Friday afternoon. I was looking for Tortilla Soup starters to take back to Lubbock as we do not have an HEB and Market Street grocery does not carry this product. I had tried this soup in your store in the past, bought it, made it and took it to work. The people I work with loved it and wanted me to bring some back for them to purchase. I ended up buying 17 jar of the Canyon Foods Tortilla Soup and 17 jars of Roasted Corn and Black Bean Salsa. Your store did not have as many on the self as I was hoping to purchase. You have an employee who was off work and shopping for personal use, but he noticed that we needed help and stopped his shopping. He got all the jars down that were on the self, then went to the back and found more for me. He also searched for the printed recipe. This man went above and beyond the call of duty to help me, and I very much appreciated his kindness and helpfulness. This employees name is: DENNIS GILWORC, (not for sure I spelled his last name right.) Sincerely, Carmie Leake
This store has improved so much in it's cleanliness. The tortilla making section is a great addition because they have the best flour tortillas I have ever tasted, next to home made. The customer service is the reason I didn't give them 5 stars. The young girls that work there are always either texting, flirting with the grocery sackers or in a crappy mood and won't even greet you as you walk up to the register. This has been an issue since the store has been remodeled. I haven't seen many of the former cashiers but I can say they were always ready to greet you and appreciated your business. Nothing in the world bothers me more than to know that my business as well as other customers is paying these hateful cashiers who don't take the time to even say hello to you. The store cannot run itself without the cashiers but would benefit to have friendly people who are there to work, not to horse around and get paid for that.
I would love to give HEB 5 stars, but unfortunately, they cannot keep their shelves stocked all the time. That is due to the fact that they have such great business. This is clearly the most popular grocery store in Midland, but HEB needs a second location for our city. Often the checkout lines are ridiculously long, so my friends and I say that we love HEB as much as we hate it. They have the best prices and selection in town, but it is not a fun experience to go there. I belive that HEB should reward this city with a second location for all the business that they recieve. As long as they maintain only one location, their competitors (mainly Albertsons) will have nothing to worry about, because we give them business so that we don't have to fight the crowds.
