House of Bagels & Bialys

Visiting Cutler Bay - or as I remember it - Cutler Ridge for my 35th high school reunion, I had the chance to visit an old haunt - the House of Bagels & Bialys in Palmetto Bay. This was my first time visiting since the early '90's.

Quick, simple, and easy - I ordered the bacon, egg and cheese breakfast sandwich on an everything bagel, along with coffee and a dozen bagels for the road. The sandwich and coffee came as a "special" and the bagels were $12.99 a dozen. Plain, rye, egg, pumpernickel, and cinnamon raisin were among my choices.

Service was friendly and polite, service a bit on the slow side. Sandwich, coffee and bagels were great - no issues whatsoever. Shopping center parking was a bit tight.

Although the food was good the people are obnixous and rude. I was in there the other day waiting for my food when a lady who was eating her breakfast outside came and inquired as to the cost of the breakfast special which she paid $6.95 but the sign in the window in 12 letters said "Breakfast special $6.45." She was told quite rudely the sign is wrong, the deal is $6.95. I pointed out that Florida law requires them to sell one at the advertised price. They refused and still did not remove the sign. I will not be back.
