Bonding includes both anterior resins and posterior resins, both of which are metal-free. These resins can be bonded directly to the surface of a tooth to repair chipped or worn teeth, or even as an alternative to porcelain veneers. Bonding materials can also be used to replace metal fillings or fill small cavities.
Crowns
A dental crown is an ideal solution used to save and protect a damaged or unhealthy tooth. When you have a severely decayed, fractured, or missing tooth, Dr. Cascante will choose the type of crown best suited to meet your specific needs. Most the time, Dr. Cascante chooses to place porcelain metal-free crowns based on their strong functionality and very lifelike appearance, however, porcelain fused to metal, and all-metal options such as gold are also available. Once complete, your crown will look as pretty and function as naturally as they did prior to any mishaps.
Bridges
If one or several consecutive teeth are completely missing, Dr. Cascante may recommend a bridge. A dental bridge works to camouflage the space left by missing teeth by utilizing the two teeth on either side of the missing tooth. Each supporting tooth is crowned, and depending on the number of teeth being replaced, will support a suspending series of additional crowns to act as your new teeth.
Dental Bonding
Dr. Cascante and our team often recommend teeth whitening for anyone receiving restoration dentistry such as fillings, crowns, or dental bonding. One of the most amazing things about dentistry today is how porcelain and resin materials can be flawlessly color-matched to natural tooth structure. However, if your teeth are yellow and stained, your new dentistry will have to appear the same. This will make your restorations visibly yellow in comparison to the rest of your teeth should you decide to whiten down the road. Deep Cleaning
Scaling and root planing is a conservative and effective procedure used to treat periodontal disease before it advances. If periodontal disease is not treated, the bacteria will work its way to foundations of the tooth causing a â€œperiodontal pocketâ€ . Sometimes referred to as a deep cleaning, scaling and root planing targets these infected areas to remove calculus and tartar within these periodontal pockets.
