The quality and cleanliness of the room was ok - not great, but you I suppose get what you pay for. What made this experience such a negative one for me was the customer service - or lack there of. The young man at the front desk was extremely curt, rude and unaccommodating. My cell phone had lost all battery power and the phone in the room would not give me a dial tone. I wasn't feeling well and had said as much to my husband before losing battery power on my cell. Not only would this man not allow me to call my husband from the front desk phone, but when my husband began calling the hotel repeatedly, asking to speak to me (I was standing right there) the man informed my husband he would not be allowed to speak to me because I was acting rude. I watched him hang up on my husband not once, not twice, but three times in a row. We travel frequently and I've stayed in a lot of hotels - never have I encountered any behavior so unprofessional and downright hostile from a member of any hotel staff. I was mortified and left soon afterward. I paid for the night and stayed a total of less than three hours. The man refused to give me his name. I intend on speaking with the manager first thing Monday morning, as apparently their managerial office is closed all weekend long. I don't know if THAT is typical for a hotel, but it does seem quite counter intuitive to me, as most hotels do their majority of business on Sat and Sun. The woman who was working the front desk when I called to complain this morning also refused to give me the man's name. I be registering a complaint with the Better Business Bureau.
