After I decided to part ways with corporate america two years I thought the best step would be to kick my look up a notch. I spotted Contesta Rock Hair during a dinner evening on espanola way and feel in love instantly with its eclectic charm. I went from medium length hair to a rockin' mohawk and became a dedicated client. MY stylist is Andrea and he can do anything I ask for but always with an extra kick. If you are looking for a total makeover in an hour this is the place.
Since I have gone here I have recommended tons of my friends and family, from teens to senior ears they all love it.

My haircut w/Favio was great my haircolorist was sweet and really executed my wishes well! the place is real hip and cool, I have NO complaints. I love the edward scissor hands like technique used to cut my hair! hahaha ok I'm exaggerating a bit! everything was awesome in the end and my hair looks fierce!

Very Hip!!!! Great Salon and very reasonable prices... I love the guy who does my hair- ENZO is the best! He always cuts my hair to perfection and is great with the blow-drier!!! My hair looks good even when I have to do it myself... If you are looking for a place where they play good music or a new stylist you should try this place- I recommend Enzo and Contesta Rock Hair.

ok. these guys are great, but definitely not for everyone. if you go in to the salon open to suggestion & willing to try something new, you will be pleased every time. every cut & colour i've gotten there over the last 2 years has been adventurous and striking, receiving numerous compliments. i've had every stylist there try something (and they're all charming, by the way). the past two visitis have proven to be the most drastic, thanks to brendan, who (after noting the texture, thickness, colour, fall of my hair) gave me two great cuts and colour (though mildly bizarre, i came to LOVE both incarnations). if you want something (dare i say it?) hip and a bit wild, contesta is for you. if you want something really specific, this might not be the salon for you. great atmosphere (usually with great artwork up & music everyone sings along with), great service.

I was wondering because I had read some reviews on other sites that some people liked the outcome of their cut, but these other reviews are making me have second thoughts about going to cut my hair there. About how much does a haircut cost there? I am looking for quality and if its not something I should do I dont wnat to have to end up paying for something entirely different that what i was looking for.

Only come to see these guys if you want THEIR version of how your hair should look.
Made appointment with Fabio, and he wasn't even there on site when I got there, and it looked like they had messed my appointment time
Brought a picture of the hair cut I wanted, and he proceeded to cut it NOTHING like what I wanted.
He thinks that HIS ideas are better than mine -- I am paying him for the service, aren't I?
Played the music so loud that is bothered some small children in the salon so bad they were trying to leave.
Music also so loud he couldn't hear anything I was saying to him.
I WILL NEVER GO BACK - DON'T WASTE YOUR TIME

My friend and I got our hair cut here recently and in both instances our requests were completely ignored. I asked only that my hair was kept long- and had 4 inches taken off on the back and about 6 inches on the front (which looks even shorter with my curly hair). The result is a poofy, juvenile looking 'do (trust me, it ain't rock). My friend worried that short layers would thicken her hair and asked for subtlety... suffice to say she is (as I write this) getting all of her hair chopped off to start with a clean slate.
Another fun fact: Their philosophy is to cut with 'asymmetry' because 'people's faces are asymmetrical' when in fact, according to extensive research involving babies (and well, obviousness), it is actually SYMMETRY that is found naturally beautiful to human beings- which means that they are basically making people less attractive.
Yes the people are great, the atmosphere and music is fun- but our disappointment, compounded by the amount of time it will take to grow the hair back (and money spent) out was simply not worth it.
