This small and unpretentious Sobe gem (soon to undergo an incredible expansion that will offer a full bar with micro distillery spirits) is all about magic. As soon as you enter you realize that you might be into something good. Approach the bar with confidence and any of the bartenders on shift will explain with detail the immense array of special and rare brews from around the world including Brewmaster/Owner Raymond Ragazio's impeccably balanced Immaculate IPA and the bold & creamy Father Theodor Imperial Stout. My recommendation is to go with the house selection. The Abbey features happy hour from 3 till 7 on home brews and ciders, but trust me, if you enjoy a well made IPA you can drink this golden nectar all day long... with a break or two of Framboise Lambic , hard to find options of Brooklyn Brewery Concoction, Blast and Main Engine, or a Delirium Tremens on tap. Needless to say the music is always on tune with what you are drinking... Allman Brothers, Jimmy Hendrix, Talking Head, and Rolling Stones are some of the sweet sounds you will hear while you enjoy the mystical and refreshing beer selection. Taking into account that the bar doesn't offer any food (except popcorn and white castle burgers) you might want to have any of your favorite local food delivered. This is a plus since once you are inside you might never want to leave. If you're a serious beer drinker, this is the place to be.
