The Concealment Shop travels to gun shows. I saw them at one of their shows in Houston in May, 2011. I ordered a concealment purse (they had a display in brown but said they could get it in black). I paid for it there - $176 including shipping. I was led to believe this was in stock at their store in Mesquite.
On June 22, I was in the DFW area. I called their store, offering to drop by and pick it up since I still had not received my order. I was told it would ship in 2 weeks, they still did not have it in stock. Helen (the owner), said she had just talked to Coronado Leather and they confirmed the backstocked purse was on its way. I was also assured I would be contacted with shipment information or with any information on further delays.
It is now July 18 - over 3 weeks later. I had to contact the store via email and phone 4 times over the past 3 days before I finally got a response from Helen. She says she is waiting to hear from Coronado Leather to find out what the delay is.
I was never contacted regarding further delays, nor was I informed at any point that this order was on "eternal backstock". This vendor does a poor job of setting customer expectations, communicating, and fulfilling orders. However, they do a *great* job of taking your money.
I have over 15 years experience in customer service. I know how you're supposed to treat a customer. I know all about setting customer expectations and keeping a customer informed. My husband owns his own retail business. He's been in business for 26 years and has his own mail-order clients. I've seen that side of the business, too, and I know how that's supposed to work. This experience was an epic fail.
I'll never use The Concealment Shop for anything, ever again, nor will I recommend them to any of my friends.
