We have been taking our 2 large dogs to see Dr. Smith for 12 years, We also have seen Dr. Marler. And soon we will be taking 2 kittens I rescued while I was staying in Florida. The front staff is the greatest and they know who you are when you just come in for food or meds. Thank you The MicansLike this review?Yes|Flag Abuse

Was looking for a vet for our rescue Shi-poo, and Merrillville Animal Hospital had very competitive prices. Was EXCELLENT with our dog who usually growls and often snaps - no problems with these vets or their staff as they are calm, knowledgeable and friendly. I also have boarded my dog here on several occasions and was pleased with the price ($20 per night) and my dog was well taken care of and happy to see the ot... view moreLike this review?Yes|Flag Abuse
Not only as a employee, but also as a client, I would love to thank Dr. Marler for his medical skills and compassion. My dog developed within a matter of days, a golf-ball sized mass on his throat. I've been able to view many procedures over the years that he has performed, and this one more than met my expectations as a client. The mass was quite large, and there was worry about the abilty to have enough skin to sut... view moreLike this review?Yes|Flag Abuse

Hospital staff is lacking knowledge, have people who groom and practice on your dog that do drugs and continue to work there. Office manager is rude and childish. Dr. Marler does not know what he is doing, he diagnosed my dog wrong and she died through the night. Very unproffessional. My advice go to another vet if you want your animal to be taken care of. Staff is not very friendly either.Like this review?Yes|Flag Abuse
I dont think this person is a client because there is no one or no pet that even fits the angry description given . Our groomer I can guarantee is not on drugs, she is a mother ,wife and grandmother . I am the office manager and I have talked to no one this angry or who lost a pet during the night following a office call . All I can say is that we go great lenghts to accomodate everyone, the office staff has been complimented over and over for being so nice and considerate . There are thank you notes all over our bulletin board from people thanking the kind staff for their help and consideration during difficult times . The phone number listed by YP on this site is so wrong , I dont even know where in the world it came from , but its just appeared and it is NOT right ! Correct phone number is 219-980-1531.
