I had acupuncture treatments from Hana Ingle in Los Angeles before she opened her practice in Merced and was treated for high levels of stress/anxiety as well as patellofemoral pain (left knee). When she left, I agreed to try acupuncture treatments from the physical therapy center I was regularly attending for my knee thinking I would continue to reap the benefits that I had experienced getting acupuncture from Hana. I can tell you right now, there is an enormous difference between someone who has an advanced degree from a university for acupuncture and oriental medicine and some chiropractor or physical therapist who has attended a week long night class to practice acupuncture!!! I was expecting my experience to mirror what I had with my sessions with Hana – never feeling the needle go in or be taken out, always soothing/comfortable, diagnosed then properly medically treated, and given quality advice upon leaving the clinic for my continued health. Unfortunately, the physical therapist’s hands were not nearly as skillful as Hana’s (the woman was rough and imprecise with the needles, as in, she frequently hit the nerve), and the therapist lacked the additional education in and understanding of oriental medicine needed to provide quality treatment (ability to diagnose and prescribe the right herbs & tonics, philosophy and science behind the treatments, etc). Merced is so fortunate to have an acupuncturist with her skill level and for the price she offers! LA acupuncture easily goes for $180 a treatment… I want her to come back!!!
Hana Ingle is one of the finest health care professionals that I’ve ever met. I had sciatic pain and could find no remedy despite trying every possible approach. Within just a couple of treatments my pain was greatly reduced and I continued to improve with each successive treatment. Hana is extremely knowledgeable in Chinese medicine and very gifted in the science of acupuncture. She has a kind of gentle wisdom that I’ve not encountered before. I’m only sorry that 5 stars is the highest rating that I can give her.
I had never tried acupuncture before but lately I have read many articles about benefits of acupuncture on various health magazines such as "prevention" "Whole Living" .and others. Although I didn't have any acute medical problem I was having some anxiety, insomnia and stomach issues that my doctors usually brushed off or quick to just give me another prescription for so I decided to go for a consultation at Sage Acupuncture and learn more about it. I am so glad I did. Try Hana, she is great.
