So, I reported my issue to the local Better Business Bureau's website. Instead of well "worst" replying to the complaint as they should have, the statement in the complaint response field was, "Due to the nature of this complaint errors in it etc I responded to this via email to firstname.lastname@example.org" Some might see that and say oh ok let me email the BBB to obtain the complaint response. Do not be tricked by these tricksters this is a tactic to avoid having the response posted online. Do not fall for it and do not believe that this complaint is not real. It is very real and no matter what new management or changes the gym makes do not go their unless every employee has been fired and they have nothing but brand new people in the facility. If you go into the business office and meet Tina or Ms. Matthews run for the hills and do not let them steal your money.

We paid for our memberships up front for a whole year. We ended up moving away 6 months into it (JOB TRANSFER) and had to forfeit all the $$$ we had paid upfront. THEY DO NOT OFFER REFUNDS! In fact their contract even states that they will not refund money even in the event that they cease to do business! It gets worse... so after moving away I didn't really spend my days thinking about the contract I had signed a year earlier. Turns out they will automatically continue to charge me at a higher rate come the end of my contract (February 2012). So I send my certified letter to cancel in January after receiving a notice that they would begin charging me again in February. Then I get a call (from Wellworx) saying that I MUST PAY FOR THE MONTH OF FEBRUARY in order to cancel my contract...... Its still January! OK, they didn't get 30 days notice... so what. Wave the fee.... put the membership on hold for 30 days until the cancellation can be processed.... Offer something. But no I am told "" IT WOULD BE BREAKING THE LAW TO WAVE THE CHARGES FOR FEBRUARY AND THEY CANT BREAK THE LAW!!! As if the police would show up and arrest somebody at Wellworx for not screwing me and my boyfriend out of another months dues. Not all gyms are like this... I had a great experience with Bally's. After Bally's received our notice they refunded our dues for the two months since we had moved away. I didn't even expect a refund because we were on a month to month contract with them. My advice- SIGN UP WITH A LARGER FRANCHISE GYM THAT IS NOT SO HARD UP FOR CASH. Larger gyms often put CUSTOMER SERVICE first rather then $$$. Also, Notice the lack of reviews for Wellworx on yelp and check out all the reviews at wellworx.pissedconsumer - I'd be willing to bet they won't be in business for long. THE REASON I SIGNED UP WITH THEM IN THE FIRST PLACE WAS BECAUSE THEY ARE NEVER BUSY... I NEVER HAD TO WAIT TO USE THE EQUIPMENT. NOW I KNOW WHY!

This place is AWFUL! I was sexually harrassed by Trainer Tracey Evans and injuried they refuse 2 fire him and they have the nerve to harrass me and not let me out of my contact after certified letter. They care nothing about membership they even have people smoking crack in the bathrooms! WELL WORXS IS UNSAFE also tanning bed 1980's model spend no money on this place

I love WellWorx! It is has everything that my family was looking for. The equipment and service are great, and the training staff is especially friendly. They will match you with someone to fit your specific needs. Their swimming pools is recently remodeled, their tennis courts are great, and the gym is always clean. I recommend it to all of my friends!
The facility is improving, as they just spent 6 figures remodling the pool area and the customer service is getting better all the time. There is more here than any other club anywhere and I don't need to climbing wall to look at. It is a members only club and I can always get to the equipment without feeling like I am in a dance club.
I like having 3 pools, raquetball, tennis, and 2 indoor tracks and more equipment than I will ever use. 200# dumbells are not in my near future, but they are there for those that need them. I ask for some nutrition tips and the trainers will help without asking for money or acting like I am intruding on their private conversation.
I had a French Riviera members for years at the same time as this for backup, and they always seemed like I was bothering them because I was not 20, blonde, and well endowed. I have referred friends here and they are happy. They all got a free trial pass to check it our before they became members.
I have heard that some people have problems with their collections if they owe money, well, don't owe money. Take care of Business, I say. But that's me. New staff is cool and caring. Still have some remodling to do and could use some help with decor, but who needs pretty, when you sweat?

Been a member since 2004. Seen this place come a long way. Still not the newest kid on the block, but their training staff is available.
I like to do everything and get bored with just weights and cardio and the pools and racquetball suit me just fine. Just re-did the pool area too.
Some staff have a bit to go, but that's true everywhere in Memphis.
A great wellness facility for the entire family. Not a social networking club like some of the other smaller gyms in Memphis. They have free childcare with your membership. Their is so much to do for everyone in my family, we never get bored, lots of fun!!! I love their indoor warm water pools!
