        Our first Memphis area transmission shop was opened on Union Avenue in 1961. Since then, we've grown to 7 Memphis area stores. Our roots run deep in the racing industry too. Larry E. Coleman's 1968 'Super Torino' funny car was the first funny car to ever hit 200 mph!

        Coleman-Taylor in Memphis has many branch locations. I have only had experience with one location, and that is the only one I can recommend. That store is across from the Commercial Appeal newspaper offices on Union Avenue, near downtown and the medical/hospital district, west of Walnut Street. Excellent service, and they have saved me a transmission overhaul more than once, by pointing out, and then repairing, a more minor problem. In my opinion, the last word in automatic transmissions in Memphis, TN.
