        Food vs environment

        I used to frequent the bistro 3x a month. My most recent visit came 4 hours after out-patient surgery while being tended to by my dear friend who happens to be a very attractive and wise woman 30 yrs my junior. Comments made or acknowleged by staff and crass guests while I was in the men's room that were later repeated to me has resulted in cafe society being removed from my midtown dining rotation, permanently. They lose a to-be-valued fan and I lose the joy's of a talented culinarian and the best pizza pie's and wings available in my neighborhood. Sad, only for the lack of etiquette.

        We recently had a 40 person dinner at Cafe Society. Everything was perfect! Not a single complaint. The service could not have been smoother and the food was fantastic. I have eaten at Cafe Society on numerous occasions and it is always wonderful but even with this huge party, they really out did themselves. Claire

        My wife and I dined at the Cafe' last evening. The staff was very attentive and pleasant. The atmosphere relaxing, with cool jazz and blues in the background. The meal was excellent.

        The tuna was wonderful, the edges slightly crisp , the flesh tender and flakey. The sauces were interesting, flavorful and really made the meal. The ravioli with squash was unreal, the squash fresh and the pasta el dente' The sorbet' was a refreshing break in the courses. The Creme Brulee, was the best. Chef Duncan provided a wonderful meal. We will certainly return. We highly recommend Cafe' Societe'
